** Roma King is part one in the Roma Royals Duet series. The second and final book in the series, Roma Queen, will be released early February 2019**
“911. What is your emergency?”
Every night, Zara Llewelyn picks up the phone and assists people in distress. House fires. Assault. Motor vehicle accidents. Home invasions…
Between the hours of six and two, she is the answer to a thousand cries for help. But when the payphone outside Zara’s apartment building mysteriously begins ringing night after night, the very last thing she wants to do is pick it up. And yet, she can’t seem to help herself…
Pasha Rivin’s trying to outrun fate. He’s been running from it for years now, but escape isn’t in his cards. As the oldest son of the oldest Roma family in the country, he’s not just a member of a proud and fiercely traditional clan. He is their reluctant king…and now he’s expected to find a wife.
The fiery redhead that shows up on his doorstep, following a trail of breadcrumbs, hunting for a missing little boy, is the last person Pasha’s mother has in mind, however.
She’s an outsider, an intruder, and as far as his family are concerned, she’s not welcome on their land, let alone in their king’s bed.
Pasha has never allowed his destiny to stand in the way of what he wants, however. And he’s never wanted anything more than he wants the girl with the burning green eyes.

Abby’s 4.5 blushes
Whilst scrolling through Instagram, I happened upon a post from Callie Hart for her Blood and Roses Series. I remember that! Was the thought that went through my mind. I remembered really liking it. I also remember it was pretty twisted, so I searched her out on Amazon to see what she’s released lately. (I like to tell how I find myself reading certain books in hopes that the author will see that everything they do helps, but sometimes it’s organic)
I stumbled upon Roma King thinking it would be mafia. It is not. But you see, I rarely read blurbs. So at first, I was like WTF is ROMA what is going on. It’s intriguing the way Hart moves you into this completely interesting world.
I’m not going to tell you because I want you to have that ‘WTF is going on’ moment too, and then the ‘Whoa, I’ve never read about this before,’ moment.
I like Zara and Pasha. They had great chemistry that lies just on the edge of unreal, but that makes it all the more beautiful. There were times I wondered if this was going to take an unexpected paranormal twist-it doesn’t.
So this is a duet. The first book leaves you intrigued the entire way through and then the second book was all, oh, snap, that’s how she is gonna weave this one huh. Then last night, I was reading during my kid’s study hall for high school open house and I had a moment where I audibly gasped and a few teenagers with pink hair turned to stare at me, like I’m the odd one with a book smh.
I thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and turns and I think this is probably one of the most original contemporary romances I’ve read in a long time. So, I recommend reading this if you are in the mood to have your head spinning at the same time you’re a little in awe of the author!
