Christina’s 5 Blush Up All Night Review

I didn’t think it could get any better for K Bromberg than Cuffed, the first book in this series of interconnected stand alones. I was wrong. Combust is one of those novels that immediately upon finishing the book, I wish I could erase the entire thing from my mind and then read it over again just to experience the perfection that is this novel. The thing I love most about reading a Bromberg novel, is all the layers that come together to create a rich and satisfying read. There was so much more to this book than just sex and sweet and swoon. I was truly surprised and unprepared for the depth of emotion and turmoil written on these pages. I flew through the last 30% of the book in one afternoon, it was just that good.

I always try to provide some context to my reviews but I’m literally sitting here wanting to tell you I loved everything about this freaking book. EVERYTHING. Grady and Dylan are my favorite pair so far of 2018. I LOVED that Bromberg featured a full figured woman with “mermaid hips” who attracts a smokin hot firefighter who is just about every woman’s wet dream. Let’s be serious. Grady Malone is SO HOT. And although he’s scarred both inside and out, he’s just about as close to perfection as a hero can get for me. Not to mention he’s a freakin firefighter with insecurities as deep as they come. Despite all his hang-ups and all his hesitations, he was exactly what Dylan needed at exactly the right time and she was everything he needed to keep living a life he wasn’t sure he deserved. While nursing a broken heart, Dylan discovers absolute beauty in this man who’s nursing a broken soul. See? Emotions. Complexity. Depth. My heart ached for Grady. My spirit soared for Dylan. These are the layers Bromberg expertly weaves together to create yet another masterpiece her fans are going to absolutely love. 5 Stars all the way for me!

Combust is the second book in the new Everyday Heroes series by K. Bromberg. Each one can be read as a standalone. We meet Grant, Grayson, and Grady Malone in Cuffed, but I can say Grady has stolen my heart.

Grady Malone is a firefighter. The adrenaline Grady gets when working is something he has always wanted. Grady is hiding himself. There are many sides of him… His smile… His dimples. He’s so damn sexy. His scars just add to his appeal even though it’s something he can’t see.

Dylan McCoy is the sister of a friend of Grady’s. Grady opens his home to her. Dylan needs a place to hide from her ex. Dylan is a songwriter, and she needs to write without the memories holding her back. Dylan has insecurities that run deep.
