Review ~~ Skyscrapers & Camelot by Mindy A. Carter
Skyscrapers & Camelot (Renovate, #1)
by Mindy Carter
Keegan was my world since I was six years old. When he walked out of my life, I was certain I would never see him again. He broke my heart, but truthfully I only have myself to blame. Now I’m looking into his incredibly beautiful blue eyes. He came back into my life as quickly as he left. Both of us have changed over the years, but I can’t imagine living another day without him.
My name is Aimee, and this is the story of how I lost and found my best friend and love of my life. The journey may be tough but there is no denying that Keegan, and I were destined to be together. He rescued me the day we met and had always been my prince charming. One thing I’m sure of, I’m not letting my happily ever after get away this time.
LOUISA’S 3 STAR REVIEW
I ALWAYS love to read new authors. So, thank you Mindy for asking me to read your book.
Mindy has taken us from when Aimee is only 6 years old to the present. At 6 years old, she in a new town, missing her mom, living with her Dad and grandparents. She wants to go “home”. She decides to run away and meets Keegan. The 7 year old boy who will forever change her life. Mindy takes us back and forth seamlessly through their lives as young children, teenagers and now in their mid 20’s.
Their paths cross again and we have the chance to watch them begin a new relationship, nothing like they had before and it was so nice to watch and be a part of it. I enjoyed watching her best friend and Keegan’s brother fall in love! They are a group of friends that I wish I could hang out with and watch first hand. Their attraction was obvious when they both let their defenses down and I just NEEDED to know why Keegan had stayed away for so long!
The book was somewhat predictable, and I have read other books with similar story lines but Mindy has made it her own. The annoying secretary that really wants Keegan for herself gave it a twist and made Keegan and Aimee just jumping into an instant relationship not possible. Keegan surely had some swoon worthy moments and I look forward to seeing how Mindy takes this story with the ending we have! Beware ~~ there is a cliffhanger – but who does’t love a good cliffy?
Congrats Mindy on your debut Novel!
