MATTERS TO YOU
by M.E. Carter
Stephanie’s 3.75 Blush Review
Single mom, Kiersten Willoughby is balancing everything that life throws her way. Her support system is filled not with family but with friends. Friends who are amazing, kind, and supportive. To her, they are her family. She has had to overcome so many things to get to where she is today. There is some emotional baggage but overall she is strong and happy.
Paul Franklin is an entrepreneur. As the new owner of an out-of-the-way bar, he is struggling to find his way and his niche. Failure is not an option. Circumstance brings Kiersten to his bar as she attended a wedding for a professional football player there. In desperate need of work, she accepts a job and so it begins…
ME Carter writes warm and comfy, real-life stories. Her characters are so relatable. Kiersten is fun, flirty, and has a positive attitude. She works hard. There is nothing like the words and actions of a three-year-old boy. And that boy is her son, Carson. The aftermath is hilarious. I was exhausted just reading about him. The chemistry between Kiersten and Paul is hot! There are other side stories woven in as well.
Part of the “Hart” series, Matters To You can be read as a standalone. I have only read book #1, Change of Hart. There were small explanations and cameos of characters from previous stories that kept me in the loop with all that was going on. I enjoyed reading Kiersten and Paul’s story. There is a setup for the next book which I would definitely read! I’d also like to go back and catch up on the books in-between; Matters of the Hart & Matters To Me. They sound really good!
ABOUT THE BOOK
Failure is not an option…
My name is Paul Franklin.
You might remember me as Jaxon Hart’s former boss. Now, I go by a different title – entrepreneur. As the owner of a flailing bar, work is my life. With every penny of my savings on the line, living on the property doesn’t even feel like a hardship so much as a necessity.
I expected lots of late nights when I bought this place. What I didn’t expect was a new employee that I can’t keep my mind off of no matter how hard I try.
As a single mom, Kiersten Willoughby’s sole focus is on providing for her son. Yet another reason to keep my hands off of her and stay focused on my goals. She doesn’t need the distractions that come with a new relationship any more than I do. But it feels almost impossible to stay away, especially when she takes her breaks moving on the dance floor, like she knows seeing her sway is my kryptonite.
Still, I’m determined to stay away because complications mean failure, and that is not an option. Success is the only thing good enough for both of us. Nothing else matters.
