Review ~~ Hush by EK Blair
Hush (Black Lotus #3)
Book #3 in the Black Lotus Series.
I’ve come to learn there is no escaping your past.
It doesn’t matter what you do, it will follow like a phantom–haunting you–reminding you.
**Due to the dark and explicit nature of this book, it is recommended for mature audiences only as some scenes may be particularly disturbing.**
So here’s the deal…I might have peed my pants a little bit when I found out I would be getting an ARC of this book. EK Blair’s books are always worth the wait but damn it all, it’s so great to get it early because she has a way of leaving us hanging…the queen of cliffys! Seriously, I LOVE a great cliffhanger and no one, I mean NO one does them quite like EK Blair.
I may have made a few enemies when this book showed up on my kindle and yes I unabashedly posted it all over Facebook, if’s that wrong – I don’t ever want to be right!
First things first, this is a trilogy – you must read BANG, then ECHO – then read HUSH. This is a series that you just can’t jump in 1/2 way through…this series needs to be on your TBRN (To Be Read Now) if you haven’t started it yet because it’s just phenomenal and unique, there is no other series like it out there!
So I will stop all my gushing and talk about this book…once again, EK Blair has knocked it out of the park. These characters will forever be in my mind, soul and heart. I can’t even discuss what exactly happens because everyone deserves that moment when we find out who was on TV <—–the cliffhanger from Echo. You know – we all discussed it ad nauseum – we all had our theories. I found myself covering the bottom of my kindle so I wouldn’t/couldn’t sneak my eyes down to the next chapter to see who it was and when I saw it I was so excited to see where this book journey would take me.
I wasn’t disappointed, not one bit. I can say that we see a different, more vulnerable side of these characters which we saw at times in Echo – but 10 times more. I cried and my heart was pumping like I had just run 10 miles (well, I have never run 10 miles but I can only image what my heart would feel like after it). The relationships between these characters range from love, to lust, to hate, to utter devastation and elation.
Just beautiful writing, captivating dialogue and this IS EK Blair’s best books yet! I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on this book. The epilogue could possibly be my most favorite epilogue ever written. It’s utter perfection!
Call out of work, use your vacation time, act sick, I DON’T CARE, but on April 14th at 12 MIDNIGHT,this book needs to be cracked open and devoured as it deserves to be!
