#FiveBlushReview ~~ Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake by Mazey Eddings
Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake by Mazey Edding
I read Mazey Edding’s first book, A Brush with Love, and found a new author to love. She’s local to me, and that, for some reason, makes me like her even more!
I was so excited to see that Lizzie was getting her own book, as I loved her in A Brush with Love.
Lizzie is a unique character, but honestly, IRL, she’s like many of us. Maybe a bit too loud, talk too much, and is a bit scattered at times. As a mother of a child with ADD, I can relate to Lizzie. She’s trying so hard to do it all, but it’s just too much, and all comes back to blow up in her face. I love reading books about relatable characters, and Lizzie is one of the most relatable characters I have ever read.
One fateful night she meets Rake. A gorgeous hottie from Australia – just a one-night stand that turns into so much more.
The banter between these two was funny, sad, and steamy! I wanted these two to get their HEA, but it wasn’t a straight road; there were many twists and turns along the way. I so enjoyed watching these two come into their own and together at the same time. I love the way in which Mazey Eddings writes, and makes me feel like I am part of the story. (I am still looking for the bakery in Philly that Lizzie works at because I think it’s a genius idea, lol)!
Another great book by Mazey Eddings!
I also had the opportunity to listen to the audible of this book, and it was even better on audible, in my opinion. The narrators did a great job bringing these characters to life.

SYNOPSIS
Once burned, twice shy, Rake has given up on relationships. And feelings. And any form of intimacy for that matter. Yet something about charming, chaotic Lizzie has him lowering his guard. For two nights, that is. Then it’s back home to Australia and far away from the pesky feelings Lizzie pulls from him. But when Lizzie tells him she’s got an unexpected bun in the oven, he’ll do whatever it takes to be a part of his child’s life… except be emotionally vulnerable, obviously. He’s never going to make that mistake again.
Through a series of mishaps, totally “platonic” single bed sharing, and an underground erotic baking scheme, Lizzie and Rake learn that even the biggest mistakes can have the most beautiful consequences.
