The Evolution of Fae and Gods is book three in The Chronicles of the Stone Veil Series.
One of the things I am really loving about The Chronicles of the Stone Veil series is that every book has ended on a cliffhanger and the following book immediately gets right back into the action. Bennett keeps you on the edge of your seat in the last few pages and it makes you want to start whichever book comes next immediately. This is so important to me because if I’m not excited by what is going to happen next after I finish a book, I find it really hard to pick up the sequel or next book in the series.
In Evolution of Fae and Gods, we continue to learn more about Finley, Carrick, and their intertwined fates. We also get to see their relationship grow from the reluctant allies they were in The Revelation of Light and Dark to friends in A Discovery of Secrets and Fate and now something more in The Evolution of Fae and Gods. I really appreciate that Finley and Carrick’s relationship hasn’t been rushed into and that Carrick had truly earned Finley’s trust before she ever considered anything romantic with him.
Another thing I have really enjoyed is Finley’s relationship with Myles and Rainey. They are both doing everything in their power to help her, and even though it’s dangerous, she’s letting them. So often in books, the best friend gets killed off as a plot device to force the main character into their destiny. Bennett could have easily killed Myles or Rainey off to force Finley along, but she didn’t and I’m really enjoying how they’re all just working together the best they can.
Book Four in The Chronicles of the Stone Veil series will be titled A Battle of Blood and Stone and after my THIRD cliffhanger, I will anxiously be awaiting its release!
