Today, we are shining the Author Spotlight on Gretchen de la O, who will be joining us in Portland on October 12th!
For registration and more information for our free event, visit: https://portlandauthorevent.eventbrite.com
Please welcome Gretchen to Up All Night Book Blog as we ask her a few questions in preparation for her visit to Portland…(And don’t miss the cover reveals after the interview!!)
UAN: Hey Gretchen! We are so very excited you will be joining us in Portland! Tell us, is this your first visit to Portland? If so, is there anything in particular you are wanting to do while here (outside of meeting all the crazy fans?)? If not, what’s something you love about Portland?
Gretchen: This will be my first time and I am excited to get the whole vibe and experience of Portland. I wish I was going to have more time to explore, but I’m only there for the weekend.
UAN: Well, we’ll need to make sure you make the best of the weekend then! *starts plotting*
What are you most excited about regarding the signing event on October 12th?
Gretchen: I can’t wait to hang out with Abby and Dawn! I am always excited about seeing my fans and I always love seeing my fellow authors. This will be the most intimate signing I will have attended, so I really look forward to the time I will have with each person who comes by my table.
UAN: It’s always a good time with you, Gretchen! Love to hear that about spending more time with fans. I know we have a lot who are looking forward to meeting you!
If you could bring one of your characters with you to the signing, who would it be and why?
Gretchen: Oh, it would have to be Max. All the ladies love him. He is so chivalrous, completely down to earth, and is so panty melting sexy…I think the ladies would kill me if I brought someone else.
UAN: If you insist! Commence panty-melting! *grins* What’s one thing you’d like to share with your fans that they might not otherwise know?
Gretchen: One thing I haven’t shared with the fans of the Wilson Mooney Series is that I am seriously debating on writing a novella.
UAN: Oh wow! You’ll need to keep us posted on that possibility! Maybe we can get a petition going for you to just do it?
Any special teasers or exclusives you can share with us in preparation for your visit to Portland?
Gretchen: Here’s an exclusive from Max’s POV. [stextbox id=”custom” bcolor=”006400″ bgcolor=”d2b48c” cbgcolor=”d2b48c” image=”null”]
Wilson was enough at this moment to keep me alive, keep me wanting to be the man I was supposed to be. She slipped her mouth down to the bend of my neck and I felt her vibrating my arms; I knew it wasn’t from the cold. She was crying at our goodbye.

UAN: Eek!! That’s some teaser! Thank you, Gretchen, for visiting with us! See you soon!

By day Gretchen teaches computers, by night she dawns the cloak of motherhood, wifehood, and authorship. She is finding her way through self-publishing and is truly learning to let go with every curve and bump in the creative process. Gretchen enjoys writing about first loves and first times, in the first person. She is a firm believer that anything is possible if you set your mind to it; and what you expect out of life, always finds a way of showing up.
She happily lives in Northern California with her amazing husband, their three terrific boys, her talented mother, one goofy black lab, one crazy kitty, and eight happy chickens. Even though it sounds like it, she doesn’t live on a farm.
