Why I question blogging and how Katy Evans constantly changes my mind.
Sometimes I question whether or not I should continue blogging. I see a trend of facebook only pages that say they are a blog and infact don’t blog. Don’t get me wrong, I’m stoked that these people are supporting authors. It crosses my mind from time to time that perhaps maybe I should do that too. Stop the blog and keep my facebook page.
Why?
Several factors, sometimes I think this because it takes a lot of time, and I have limited amounts of that. Other times, I hate when reading feels like an obligation. I don’t like when I am reading something on a time line and I don’t love it so I try to just get it over with. That defeats the purpose of blogging.
(my purpose is to support and shout out about what I love. Other blogs may have their own purpose.)
Facebook doesn’t show blog post. I am sure that fb is tied in with Amazon somehow and Amazon must give them money for showing their links. I try it all the time. I post something with an amazon link and without. Facebook always lets amazon get the views, and it can be really disheartening at times. In times like this, I’ve considered starting up on other social media platforms, like Instagram, and sharing some content on there as it can be easier to get views on there and a larger following. Along with the services like Ninjagra, according to this truthful Ninjagram review, it’s never been easier to build a following! In which case, I don’t have to rely on Facebook for these sorts of things.
Lastly and my main reason, one I have debated internally on if I should speak up, is that my reading soulmate whom I started Up All Night Book Blog with stopped reading. She withdrew from everything and Nicole and myself have felt like we lost a limb. We pray one day she will find her way back and truthfully I miss getting giddy over books with her. Nothing like messaging the same person who is reading what you are and you both are snot crying together. She got me and all my quirks and her loss has left a hole.
And so with those reasons I sometimes want to quit.
Throw in the towel.
I ask myself, would it matter?
Then I look at my site stats, and do you know what?Everyday I get at least three people who visit, (by visit they googled Real and searched for this post) my blog to read our review of Katy Evans Real. (Remy is my number one book boyfriend.) I’m reminded why blogging is awesome! It doesn’t disappear into the sea of posts and amazon adds, it lives on.
When people go to the blog they are usually reading the material we have posted. On fb I don’t think people truly click on a link for amazon unless they have intention to buy it. With blogging we can tag posts so that when someone types a search into google it shows up. And see this little post that I did well over a year ago, people are searching it out because they love Remy too.
Blogging is such a wonderful thing because we get to fangirl it up and spread the love. It is no wonder that people who want to set themselves up online will check out things like domain name registration as well as how they can market their blog to fellow lovers of blogging and blog readers. There is so much that can be done with a blog, you can talk about practically anything, so why wouldn’t you want to do it? However, there’s no use in writing a lot if no one reads it. The whole point of blogging is to connect with other readers who enjoy reading about various topics and expressing their opinions in the comment section. Nevertheless, in order for that to happen, your blog or website should come in the search section. If you’re not sure how to do that, contact a Search Engine Optimization Agency to assist you in determining how to reach more people.
Not only that, but we meet people and form bonds, the type where we would call someone our reading soulmate-and sure it hurts that she is gone, but gosh am I lucky that she came into my world. Sharing our posts with the world is what it’s all about and so I know quite a few bloggers who have taken to social media to get the word out about what it is they do and write about online. Instagram is a particularly popular platform and many use Nitreo (learn more about Nitreo here) in order to boost their following their in an organic way so that they can enjoy more engagement and a greater reach online.
If I’m in a silly mood I can make a post about bulbous mushroom tips and hope that everyone can get a chuckle.
If I’m inspired I can write about that too.
Or if I am unsure I can think, WWRD (What would Remy Do) And if I know my Remington Tate he would kick ass and persevere if blogging had him down. He’d put his bad read down and read a little Kristen Ashley. (Well cause she always kicks ass too.)
