Hmm, ok so I wasn’t blown away by this sequel. I really enjoyed The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden. I looked forward to the follow-up. However, this wasn’t a home run for me.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked this. I just didn’t love it.
Here is what I liked….
There is a lot of emotion that run super deep for Callie and Kayden. In The Coincidence, we got to experience Callie and Kayden as they fell for eachother. This story is different from that, perhaps the whole story has to do with how the pair can learn to love. I had tears when Callie and Kayden finally came clean with their loved ones. So this had a good impact that I was able to get emotionally involved. Kayden although emotionally damaged, unconditionally, really wants to do what is best for Callie.
What I didn’t love as much was the pace. I often felt like, okay, I get it. I felt like their emotional side was drawn out a little to much, and that there could have been a few more dramatic moments. Lackluster is the word that popped in my head when I was done. This was nice enough for me but I really wish I had that “Wow.”
