Will is my fiancé. The shy man I met years ago in college. The person I’m supposed to spend the rest of my life with.
This is the life I’ve always wanted until finding a picture of four men changes everything…
Étienne says he’s my husband and the year is 1912. He can’t stand the sight of me, but I don’t know why.
Oh, and he’s one of the men from the picture.
I’ve done the impossible and have become trapped in time and I know Étienne is my key to going home.
The more time I spend with Étienne, the further I fall for him until I’m questioning which time I belong in and if the life I left behind is the one I truly desire.
All I know for certain is I need to survive time.
I need to survive love.
And I need to make it out on the other side alive.
Étienne Lacroix and I had a fire I thought would never die.
Our love was timeless.
An irreversible decision sent me back to the present day with a family I barely recognize, but I am determined to find a way back to Étienne.
I can survive time. But I can’t survive life without him.
Time bends to no one’s demands, so I must fight with everything I have to return to the past. However, I am terrified that the past I once knew might not look the same, and the man who once called me his surviving trace will no longer be waiting for me.
Time bends to no one’s demands but sometimes love does…
The Reigning and the Rule is book two in The Surviving Time Series.
Abby’s 5 GIANT Blushes
I was recently doing my 2018 favorite list and I had to include Surviving Trace. I realized two things at
It’s january 4th and so far, I’ve had 2 five star reads!! Holy moly that’s how were starting this year!!
Surviving Trace is a historical fiction time travel book. You might be like time travel?? It works so well, trust me.
Calia Read sets the book in historic Charleston SC. Having visited, but not in the early 1900s, I felt like she painted the picture and the scenery perfectly. I could picture every room, and every scene played out with perfect descriptions.
I remember finishing Surviving Trace and thinking, Damn that was good. I wonder when the next will be out. I messaged Calia and told her how much I loved it and that the book trailer was what had me adding it to my TBR. The trailer is amazing.
I’m not sure if there will be a 3rd book. You can definitely see why there would be when you finish, but there is a sense of completion. I really loved this story. The range of emotions I felt was a perfect blend of heartache and triumph.
Without giving much away about the story, I’ll tell you that the heroine is sometimes crass, but full of spirit. She is refreshing when many of the women’s personalities of that time are not portrayed as being outspoken. Serene faces so many obstacles, but one thing is sure, her love for Etienne. Their love is the kind that can survive the test of time. It’s the kind of love we all aspire for.
Read these two books. Even if it doesn’t seem like your normal read. They’re beautiful and heartfelt.
