Reviews – Well Played by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland
Sandy’s 4.5 Blush Review
You know how people say “You can’t go home again?” Sure you can and that’s exactly what Presley Sullivan does. Leaving the Big Apple behind to return to the first place that was her home. Beaufort, South Carolina may be just what she and her little boy, Alex, need to start over. There is just one little problem – Levi Miller.
Levi Miller is a world-famous football player. He plans to make a pit stop in his hometown of Beaufort to sell the bed and breakfast his family owns. Then turn right around and head back to his bright and shiny life. How to deal with Presley and the ideas she has is going to be a little more complicated than he planned.
These two people are at completely different places in their lives. Now they must cohabitate, each one hoping to sway the other. Neither one counting on the fireworks between them. How to deal with the undeniable attraction between them? Presley is his brother’s ex and his nephew’s mom which makes it all so messy. She’s got everything to lose including her heart.
Penelope and Vi are a winning combination every single time. Well Played does not disappoint. It is told in a dual PoV, with the feels, the sexy, the funny, the angsty, and an adorable kid that steals your heart. What else could you want?
Louisa’s 4.5 Blush Review
I have always said “you can’t go wrong with a Vi & Penelope book” and once again they gave me exactly what I needed. I have been in a bit of a romance book funk lately. I had not been absolutely blown away with a book for a while and this book just blew me out of the funk!
Presley and her son Alex return to Presley’s hometown to run an Inn that was owned by Alex’s father’s grandfather. Alex’s father isn’t the greatest Dad but his grandfather wanted to leave a legacy for Alex. There is only one little thing that could make Presley’s plan not work. Her plan? Redo the Inn and run it.
Problem #1… Levi Miller. The brother of Presley’s ex and uncle to Alex. He’s been left half of the Inn and he’s ready to sell and move on…go back to his life of being a professional football player. But once he’s there…living with Presley, spending time with Alex – things change. But how in the world can Levi be with his brother’s ex?
While reading I kept thinking, how in the world is this every going to work…the angst was high and I just kept reading because I knew that Vi & Penelope had a plan.
