Reviews: THE EVERSEA SERIES by Natasha Boyd
Eversea (Book #1)
Synopsis
Eversea, a love story, is a Winter Rose Contest FINALIST 2013. Emilia Pisani of Simon & Schuster (judge) says “Great southern flavor!” and “Jack is an alluring leading man!”
An orphaned, small-town, southern girl, held hostage by responsibility and self-doubt.
A Hollywood A-list mega-star, on the run from his latest scandal and with everything to lose.
A chance encounter that leads to an unlikely arrangement and epic love affair that will change them both forever.
When his co-star and real-life girlfriend is caught cheating on him with her married and much older director, A-list hottie, Jack Eversea, finds himself in sleepy Butler Cove, South Carolina. Jack hopes the sultry southern heat in this tiny coastal Lowcountry town will hide him not only from the tabloids and his cheating girlfriend, but his increasingly vapid life and the people who run it. He doesn’t count on meeting Keri Ann Butler.
Keri Ann has relied on herself so long, dealing with her family’s death and the responsibilities of keeping up her family’s historic mansion, that boys and certainly the meager offering of eligible boys in Butler Cove, have never figured into her equation. But fate has other plans. Suddenly face to face with the man who played the movie role of her favorite fictional character, Jack has Keri Ann yearning for everything she has previously avoided … and Jack must decide whether this funny, sassy girl is worth changing his life for, before his mistakes catch up to him.

Dawn’s Review of Eversea: 5 Stars
Jack Eversea is going on the book boyfriend list, immediately! From the moment he shows up in South Carolina and meets Keri Ann through the very end, I was IN LOVE! In love with the flow of the story, with the dialogue, with the character development, with the evocative descriptions, and with the breath-hitching intensity that sparks between Jack and Keri Ann.
This was exactly the book I needed when I needed to completely escape. I found myself reading for almost 5 hours straight reading it from start to finish! For a debut novel, Natasha Boyd delivered a lovely, solid story about a high profile movie star and a local low-country girl who meet and fall in love.
But not all is easy, as Jack has his troubles following him and Keri Ann hasn’t learned how to allow people to get close to her after experiencing a huge amount of loss early in life. Life in the bubble may seem easy but life seems to find ways to intrude and my heart ached for all that happens.
Overall, a beautifully written story with many delicious moments between Jack and Keri Ann, sprinkled with a cast of secondary characters that hit just the right amount of involvement. I loved this story and as a fair warning, it is a bit of a cliffhanger so be sure to grab book 2 – you’ll want to keep going the moment the first one ends!
Dawn’s Review of Forever, Jack: 5+ Stars
If I thought I completely loved Jack Eversea and Keri Ann Butler in the first book in this series, Eversea, I found that I was wrong. That was just the tip of the iceberg for me! In Forever, Jack, Natasha Boyd picks up right where Eversea left off and sucked me right back into the turmoil of Jack’s and Keri Ann’s lives.
What I loved in this one – I could see even more of the the depths of love between Jack and Keri Ann. Jack lays it all out there, not knowing if anything will come of it. His vulnerabilities. His pain. His need to be the foundation for Keri Ann and for her to do the same. His passion for her! Holy hell, the kiss that wasn’t quite a kiss…SERIOUSLY swoon-worthy! I thought my panties were going to melt! Haha!

What else I loved – The relationships between Keri Ann and her brother, and with Jazz, Mrs. Weaton, Colt. Jack and Devon. They were developed with enough depth to add to the story perfectly without detracting from the main story. Oh, and the scene with Jack and Joey racing horses…holy hell, I wanted to be on that beach taking pictures!
In Forever, Jack, there was so much beauty, passion, love, and heartache. I felt like Jack at times with Keri Ann’s moments of mental whiplash. But at the same time, I could totally get where she was coming from with it with knowing she needed to be her own person, fighting for her own dreams. She didn’t want to lose herself in Jack’s shadow or his celebrity. As much as I don’t know anything about being with a celebrity, I felt that there was so much real about the mental gymnastics that Keri Ann went through trying to come to grips with Jack’s reality and fame.
I also loved the strength that Keri Ann demonstrates. She is a no-nonsense kind of woman and her strength was fantastic! And her moments of seeing through Jack to the real person he was added one more point in the Jack column.
Wait, there’s more…Jack’s journals. Oh lord. And his moments of just laying it all out there. Not gonna lie. I teared up several times and I’m not much of a crier. Natasha Boyd’s writing is intense, heartfelt, and just grips you with the emotions of the moment. I was on a rollercoaster of a ride and I never wanted it to end! The only thing I wanted was MORE! After the epilogue, I just wanted more! I am not ready to say goodbye to Butler Cove, Jack, and Keri Ann!
