Mrs. Degree is a second chance, single mom, sports romance all rolled into one! Mrs.Degree was a bit different than my normal reads, Sara Ney is a new author for me.
Penelope is a single mom whose past has finally come back to haunt her. Penelope was young and scared and didn’t want to jeopardize Jack’s chances. Penelope and Jack dated in college and one day Penelope up and left and ghosted Jack.
Jack is a professional athlete who has everything going for himself. So to his surprise when he seeks out Penelope he never would have thought she left school the way she did.
I enjoyed reading The Mrs. Degree, it was lighthearted and hit just how hard some choices we make affect our lives. I wish Penelope had more of a backbone she wasn’t the strong heroine that I’m used to. Jack is so patient and forgiving and chill. I felt he was too easygoing on Penelope. Skipper stole the show she’s a rambunctious 7 yrs old who’s not shy at all. The bond that forms between Skipper and Jack will melt your heart.
