Review: STALK ME (The Keatyn Chronicles #1) by Jillian Dodd
Synopsis
Gossip Girl meets Hollywood in this steamy new series by That Boy author, Jillian Dodd.
Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most-coveted lunch table.
She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.
Because, really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And, deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.
To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker.
A hot, older man flirts with her and tells her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide.
So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.
But little does she know, there’s someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Nicole’s Review 4 Stars (added 4/10/2014)
Because of my late start in the reviewing world, I missed out on reading a LOT of awesome books. It’s a sad fact, but nothing that I can’t slowly and deliberately rectify!! One of the series that I had not heard of was The Keatyn Chronicles by Jillian Dodd. Dawn and Abby both love Keatyn and suggested that I get to know her too. So for all of you who have read the series up to the next book coming out, this review isn’t really for you. For those of you who haven’t read The Keatyn Chronicles, here is my 4 star review for Stalk Me: Book One.
Keatyn Douglas lives a life that only few people ever get to live. She is the 16 year old daughter and step daughter to one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples. She lives in Malibu, on the beach no less, and has more freedom than I ever had at 16!! As a junior in high school, Keatyn runs within the circle of the most popular and most beautiful kids in school. She smart, funny and despite her popularity, very likeable. Like many teenaged girls, she is a tad boy crazy, would rather die than hang with the wrong crowd and just wants to have fun!! All of this is well and good until events that she can’t control start happening and all she can do is damage control. Keatyn is so sweet and just a little bit goofy. She is also somewhat insecure. This insecurity is what gets Keatyn into some of the messes that she finds herself in. There were times in this book that Keatyn made me slap my forehead in disbelief! There were other times where my heart went out to her. In all of that, I had to remind myself that I was that silly, goofy and insecure at that age. (a looong time ago!) When you add the cast of characters that Jillian Dodd introduces us to, you have quite a story! Stalk Me is entertaining, suspenseful, and for those of us who didn’t sit at the “cool kids” table, a bit of a daydream!
Dawn’s Review 4 Stars
Lighthearted, fun, read by Jillian Dodd! I laughed so many times while reading about Keatyn’s dramas. Keatyn Douglas is a sixteen-year-old girl who turns seventeen during Stalk Me, but she’s not your average girl. She is the daughter/step-daughter of one of Hollywood’s powerful leading couples. She has seemingly unlimited money to spend and time to hang out with her friends at the beach or at a party, smoke a little weed, and dance until early morning. Could she be a mean girl sometimes – um, like, yeah! Could you hate her for that? Maybe, but I never did! I loved hanging out with Keatyn!
She’s funny, loves shoes (my kind of girl right there!) and clothes, and just wants to find that boy…the one who is her one true love. And just like you’d imagine, finding that one true love is not always easy for Keatyn. Could it be her best friend and surf buddy, Brooklyn? Is it Sander, the Prom King and Hollywood star? Maybe Cush, a guy friend who also hates the social dramas like Keatyn does? Her best friend, Damian? Or not any of them? Keatyn desperately wants to figure it out and this is the beginning of her story of discovery of who she truly wants to be, all while navigating the drama of high school popularity.
There are the popular girls and the Queen Bee. Oh, those girls I love to hate! Wonderful, sweet moments with Keatyn, aka KiKi, and her little sisters. (They are so adorable!!) Oh, and there’s a creeper on the loose, determined to scare the bejesus out of Keatyn and her family as they try to determine who he is before he does something decidedly awful. And there is Keatyn herself, who slowly is working on herself.
I LOVED this fun, feisty romp of a story and can’t wait to read book 2!
