Dawn’s Review 5 Stars
Michelle Valentine is evil!!! Ha! Not really! I absolutely LOVED Phenomenal X! I truly believe this is Michelle’s best work to date, and I’m a huge sucker for her rock stars so that’s saying something. I’ll admit it right up front – I’ve never been much of a WWE/wrestling fan. Growing up, my friends would stay up and watch the bouts on TV but I always thought they were a little silly.
Stick a pin in that because if Phenomenal X had been on the television when I grew up, I’m pretty sure my opinion would have been different! Michelle Valentine achieved what I thought might not be possible – Me. Loving a wrestler. And she pulled it off so well that I can’t wait to get my grabby hands on the next book! (Insert kindle throwing tantrum because it’s not out yet…)
The dialogue between Anna and X is spot on and quite hilarious at times. I loved the slower build of their relationship but holy smokes, when it gets heated I needed a fan to cool down! There’s plenty of action too, some family dynamics that made me want to punch a few people, and a pace that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could.
Overall, I’m still feeling a tinge tantrum-y with the way the book ended but that’s only because I loved the story and the characters SO much that I want more. Lots more. I was not ready for the book to end and will definitely add this to the bookshelf for re-reads.
