Abby’s Review 3 Stars
This is a fun start to a paranormal trilogy. There is a lot of high impact drama, and even though a lot is happening it doesn’t feel rushed. I struggled a bit at first to get into it. Sometimes I was confused between Raven and Mace, mostly in the first chapter. After I got through that bit of confusion it was a much smoother sail.
This is also a young adult, paranormal which is not always the books that we have here on UAN, but I find occasionally that I read a little bit of that. It is something different and has a lot a twists and turns that can go so many directions. One thing that is fun about paranormal is that anything is possible so when you think you have it all figured out the author can throw anything at you. Heather Burch sure does not disappoint in this area.
I felt that Nikki, could have been described a little it better. I also at one point felt like there were all these comparisons to the Matrix which bothered me slightly. There was the network, the EMP and Zero which rhymes with Nero. There was just a lot like that on two pages so it kind of struck a chord with me, and not the best one. However by the end of this book I was very interested to keep going and see where this series was going to take me.
