I have to be honest here! I have never read a Charity Ferrell book before, but my 20-year-old daughter (frequent Book Tok watcher) is a HUGE FAN, so when this book was being released, I thought – “sure, Louisa, try it out”. So what I am hearing is that this book is different from most Charity Ferrell books. I am not particularly a dark romance girl, but I went into this with an open mind. The first page had me blushing and thinking, OMG, my daughter is going to read this! lol Natalie is put into a position of asking her best friend’s father for help. After breaking up with her boyfriend, the son of a rival mafia family, she now has a hit out on her life. Little did she know that Cristian would take this arrangement to where it goes. I enjoyed seeing the changes in both Cristian and Natalie during the book. Natalie is such a strong woman; she doesn’t take crap from anyone – even the Gorgeous Monster Cristian. And Cristian, seeing him fall for Natalie was so nice to see that he has a soft side… I have to say I really enjoyed this book, yes, it was darker than I typically would read, and yes, it’s a steamy read (no I will not be discussing that part of the book with my daughter!)…
