Review: FALL FROM GRACE & SAVING GRACE by Christine Zolendz
Synopsis
I’m finally home after struggling through my brother’s illness and death. But, home is definitely a bit different. My best friend (the only person alive now that knows my secret) has a new boyfriend; and he has a friend. Shane Maxton: bad boy, tattooed rock god, eye candy extraordinaire. He is also New York City’s most arrogant, self-serving, son of a, well, a definite one-night stand kind of a guy.
But, it doesn’t matter to me because I’ve spent my existence looking for the love of my life, my angel. And, there is nothing that Shane Maxton can do to change that.
A paranormal romance.
Nicole’s Review for FALL FROM GRACE 4.5 Stars
As someone who has never read a paranormal book or story before, I was a bit unsure of what to expect from Christine Zolendz’ Fall From Grace. Wow. What a great read for a paranormal newbie!! The story was amazing. It was so easy to read and very believable. I have to admit, when I first started reading Grace’s story, I wondered if I would get lost in all of the fantasy and paranormal parts of the story. Never happened! Zolendz does such an amazing job of incorporating the fantasy details into the whole story. It is the subtlety with which Zolendz writes of Grace’s past lives and her interactions with Gabriel that make the story completely believable. I never once thought…” Yeah, right! That sounds ludicrous!” The genuineness of her words made it so easy to read and get lost in the story, not the details of fantasy.
At its heart, Fall From Grace is a story about love that never ends. It a story about finding that love and knowing that through time and circumstance it will endure. It is about the loss of a love that has never died and can never be forgotten and the search to find it again. Add to this, the fact that the main male character, Shane, is all of the hot rock star kind of sexy a girl likes and you have yourself some seriously hot reading! From Grace’s first real conversation with Shane, I was rooting for him to be her long lost love! The sexual tension between them is electric! And that doesn’t even include any nakedness! It’s just them talking!!
If you are looking for a book that opens you up to paranormal romance for the first time, Fall From Grace is a great place to start. It eases the paranormal newbie into the realm of “otherworldliness” with its’ emphasis on the story itself, not the things that make it paranormal. Give it a try!
Did I mention that Fall From Grace is the first book in the Mad World Series? Yeah…it is. I have already started Book 2!!
Happy reading!
Synopsis
After spending over 2,000 years being a lost soul looking for the angel I was forbidden to fall in love with, I finally found him. Lucky for me he has taken up residence inside the hot body of NYC’s local bad boy, tattooed rock star, Shane Maxton. Turns out, not only is he absolutely perfect, so is the whole Grace Taylor life that I’m stuck in. The only problem is Gabriel. An archangel who wants me all to himself so he kind of kidnaps me. Now I have to find my way back and hope everything works out…
Nicole’s Review for SAVING GRACE 4.5 Stars
When I started reading Saving Grace, the second book in the Mad World series, I was hot off the ending of the first book, Fall From Grace. I was curious to see how Christine Zolendz would move from one book to the next. Would there be a continuation of the storyline? Would Zolendz make a jump in the story and then fill in the reader later on in the book. I was pleased that she simply continued the story where it left off. And what a story it was!! All of the things I loved about Fall From Grace were even better in Saving Grace. From Grace’s sarcastic and quick witted conversations with Shane and her best friend Lea, to her strength and belief in finding her long lost true love, Saving Grace delivers in spades!!
In Saving Grace, the reader is given more background from Grace’s past and how that past has caught up with her. We get to watch Grace fight to protect the life that she has now and face her greatest foe. We see the relationship with Shane grow with all of its’ ups and downs. We get a front row seat to all of the heat and electricity that Shane and Grace put out…and boy is it hot!! Beyond all of that, the reader gets to see what love looks like when it endures and what happens when that love faces its’ greatest challenges. More than once, I found myself holding onto the hope that Grace would find and keep her true love and every single time I PRAYED that it be would Shane! He is so fine!
Saving Grace is a great read. It finishes a great story and gives the reader the sense of closure that so many books are missing. I don’t need to know what happens next with Shane and Grace. All of my questions were answered. All of my hopes were satisfied. I find those qualities to be what makes a book great. My official rating is 4.5 stars.
By the way…there is a third book in the Mad World series! It’s called Scars and Songs, and Lord help us all…it is told from Shane’s point of view!! Can you imagine?? A whole book told in that hot raspy voice!! I get giddy just thinking about it!!
