I have been enjoying this series by Mariah Dietz but this may be my new favorite. The characters in this book were introduced in the previous books but this can be read as a stand-alone. I am a purest and this that books should be read in order. they are just more complete when I have the previous books in my brain – but that could just be me!
Chloe and Tyler and Chloe’s best friend and twin sister embark on a cross country trek back to school but while driving they will be stopping at hotels that Tyler’s family owns for him to check up on them. This is everyone’s dream, right? Driving cross country with a hot British Hotel Heir? But there is only one problem, Tyler is a bit of an arrogant jerk. Chloe isn’t too happy about this last-minute decision to have Tyler be a part of this journey.
It’s so and steady – they both, Chloe and Tyler, begin to thaw the ice around their hearts and a friendship begins. This book is full of angst and it’s a slow burn, not too slow – just the right amount of simmer. I LOVE enemies to lovers romance too so this book had it all!
I enjoyed watching these two find their way to each other and this book had me reading way into the wee hours of the morning. I LOVE my sleep and as I have gotten older staying up to sleep has been harder and hard – so honestly, I fell asleep reading, woke up about 4 hours later, and read more at 2am then again at 7am when I woke! I LOVE a book that just pulls me in and doesn’t let go!
