Defining the Rules

The Dating Playbook series by Mariah Dietz is giving me all the feels!
Arlo and Olivia’s story is Defining the Rules is book 3 in the series. It can absolutely be read as a stand-alone but I am a purest…I love reading series – in orders.
Bending the Rules & Breaking the Rules were both books about Lincoln and Raegan – a brother’s best friend love story. We met Arlo in those books and I just KNEW he would have his own story and I would love it.
Defining the Rules is a friends to lovers, slooooww burn! Two of my favorites.
What I loved so much about this book was the friendship between Arlo and Olivia.
Arlo is a funny, goofy silly guy who starts this relationship with Olivia as friends, he believes he’s cursed and for some reason when he’s with Olivia all is good in the world. Only one problem? She’s off limits – 1. She has a boyfriend back home and 2. She’s the coaches daughter. But the sweet man that Arlo is – just wanted to be friends, however there is a spark and it eventually may ignite!
Olivia is a sweet, sweet girl. She takes no shit from Arlo and often the banter between these two cracked me up, like laugh out loud! Olivia has a “boyfriend” back in Texas but their relationship is somewhat undefined. She’s not quite sure what it mean but her ultimate goal is to return home to Texas. There are a few thing about her life she hasn’t shared with everyone, she keep things close to her chest, but Arlo just might be the guy to help her heal.
Mariah Dietz once again had me giggling at one point, blushing at the next! I knew Arlo would keep me entertained and he did exactly that!

It started with friendship.
The best stories always do.
Our story sounds unlikely.
Bizarre.
A fable.
Like wine and cheese and my favorite pair of jeans,
Things got better over time—
Too good, it seemed.
Arlo Kostas was the starting running back for Brighton University.
His quick smile and sharp wit
Was enough to disarm even the biggest cynic.
And his perfectly defined abs and more perfect face,
Convinced the rest.
I was homesick,
Counting down the days until I returned home for spring break when we met.
Clinging to memories I’d been trying to hold onto for years
And then he tipped my world upside down.
Maybe it was bad luck.
Perhaps we were jinxed,
But things between Arlo and I were doomed,
Right from the very start.
We were supposed to be friends but like everything,
Things kept getting blurred,
Now, we’re Defining the Rules.
Defining the Rules is a complete standalone and a part of The Dating Playbook Series
