Review: A BLUE TALE by Sarah Dosher
The rock legend’s daughter…
Eli Blue Savage doesn’t trust musicians, especially those that idolize her dad. Her heart’s been broken by everyone she’s ever loved. Fairytale dreams and the music she locks inside her heart are all that keep her alive.
The musician with a dark past…
Deacon Chastain plays a blue guitar to match his rock idol, the man that saved him from a path of destruction. His life revolves around music; it’s the only thing that saves him from the darkness.
Hearts beat to the same rhythm…
Broken and scarred by their pasts, can they find a way to heal and move forward? No matter the adversity, even the hardest of hearts can be softened by love – music is easy; life is hard.

Dawn’s Review 3.75 Stars
I started A Blue Tale after reading another book that left me with a serious book hangover. I was looking for a rock star romance (because this girl unashamedly loves those!) that would draw me into the music scene and leave me feeling happy. I found that in A Blue Tale, and so much more!
This is my first book by Sarah Dosher. She’s a fairly newer author to the publishing scene and after reading A Blue Tale, I’ll be watching for more from her in the future. This is a sweet, sexy romance with some darker edges to it that I completely didn’t expect.
One of the things I loved the most was the treatment of music. I could practically feel the passion of music coursing through my soul as it does in the souls of Eli Blue and Deacon, the main characters. It was a potent and soulful aspect that I felt tied all the characters together, including their friends and family.
Eli Blue and Deacon originally meet in a somewhat unusual way and hooked me right in. From the very beginning, I felt their connection. I loved the humor, the passion, and the sweetness to their story. However, there’s also a love triangle in A Blue Tale involving Shaw, Eli’s long-time friend and sometime lover. There are some darker parts that surface in this story that ends in a tough decision, and one that proves to be extremely painful. The emotions and the outcome were extremely vivid and had my heart aching.
This book flowed so smoothly for me and I found myself at the end before I knew it! If anything, I felt I had some unanswered questions related to Eli’s dad that were hinted at but not resolved. Maybe my inner sleuth was trying to find deeper reasons that were just not there? Overall, A Blue Tale was just what I needed to while away some time immersed in music and musicians.
