As the rising star in Houston, Daniel has found fame as Captain of his Pro soccer team and the city’s most eligible bachelor. Daniel has everything – except someone special – and that suits him just fine. He doesn’t want, or need, complications.
Quincy has baggage, and lots of it. After a tragic accident spins her world on its axis, she finds herself as a single mother, raising a newborn nephew she never knew she had. Between parenthood, her full-time job, and dealing with the suffocating grief of losing her sister, every day is a struggle.
When they begin to cross paths unexpectedly and often, an unlikely friendship starts to evolve. Feelings change. Lines get crossed. What happens next surprises them both…
Before they know it– they’ve been Juked.
“Then we have Daniel, aaah, sweet, funny and hot as hell Daniel, if only he was real *sigh*” – Goodreads Review
“I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved this book! M.E. Carter has done is again with a fantastic sports romance…” – Goodreads Reviewer
“”Juked” is a MUST read on your 2016 summer book list!” – Goodreads Review
This is my first ME carter book. Why have I waited so long to read one? Kicking myself right now!
Ahhhh…a good guy! I love a good guy in a book. Many books have a bad boy turned good guy but not this book. He starts out as a good guy. Yeah – he may have his whoring ways, but everyone knows what they are getting, he doesn’t lead girls on and he lets them know that he’s one and done.
Daniel doesn’t’ know what he’s got coming one night shopping in Walmart when he stumbles upon Quincy and her nephew — this chance meeting will change their lives forever.
Daniel becomes, slowly, a constant in Quincy life. Daniel brings Quincy into his family, a huge part of who he is. There a definite twists and turn that keep me glued to the book. These characters were lovable and I enjoyed seeing their relationship from infancy grow. They both changed throughout the book. I may have cursed Daniel a time or two!
Overall, I am looking forward to grabbing ME Carter’s previous books and going on a #MECarterBinge.
Jade’s 4 Star Review
ME Carter kicks us off on a new series and she’s beginning with JUKED! There’s another sports element to her story, but it’s not a huge part of it. The main event is Daniel Zavaro & Quincy!!! And I loved the story line!!!
Quincy is thrown a major monkey wrench into her life as she unexpectedly inherits custody of her nephew after her sister is killed. But she takes this challenge by the horns and gives it everything she’s got. Her character was fantastic and VERY REAL! I really liked her!
Enter Daniel Zavaro, the captain of the Mutiny Soccer Team, and by a chance meeting, he and Quincy bond over baby advice because of his large family. The way they met was so sweet and so different! The progression of their relationship happens before your eyes and you WILL love Daniel.
Daniel is soft and sensitive and a responsible guy, that takes people into consideration and genuinely cares. ME Carter did a great job with showing his family life, and it explains why he’s so loving and amazing. I kind of want to be part of his family!
With a few twists and turns, Carter manages to drop the bombs at the right time and it keeps you moving through the story. I read Juked cover to cover in 2 days because I so wanted to find out how Daniel and Quincy will overcome their obstacles with him being in the spotlight and she becoming a “mom”.
There is a part of Juked that I was hesitant about, when another character is introduced. And I spoke with ME Carter about the way he was portrayed because I didn’t pick up on what she was trying to convey, but after speaking with her it was written this way for the best reasons possible.
I thought Juked was fun but an emotional roller coaster at times. You’ll love Daniel and Quincy and some of Carter’s other characters she’s throwing into the mix! I can’t WAIT to see what comes next!

“Mother, reader, storyteller – ME Carter never set out to write books. But when a friend practically forced a copy of Twilight into her hands, the love of the written word she had lost as a child was rekindled. With a story always rolling around in her head, it should come as no surprise that she finally started putting them on paper. She lives in Texas with her four children, Mary, Elizabeth, Carter and Bug, who sadly was born long after her pen name was created, and will probably need extensive therapy because of it.”
