An unexpected run in with a “friend” has her questioning everything that she believes to be true in her life. Amelia flees New York and heads to California to seek answers from her brother Cam. There is only one problem- Cam is away. But fear not! Coming to her rescue is Cam’s best friend, the yummy Brooklyn James. The last time Amelia saw Brooklyn was when she was ten years old…..
The chemistry between Brooklyn and Amelia is insane. The sex is hot, hot, hot! Brooklyn has a well-known reputation in Hollywood. He is still called ‘the player’ and the ‘pantydropper’. But there is much more to Brooklyn James than meets the eye. He wants more but is afraid to admit it and afraid of failure.
‘Too wild. Too unsettled. Too rough around the edges. Too much sex appeal’.
Amelia was the “princess” in her family. She wants to please everyone, especially her dad. She is beautiful and mesmerizing but also funny and easy going too. Amelia is struggling to find her way, her balance. She doesn’t want to let anyone down but yet she is not really happy working in the family business. She would much rather pursue her love of photography.
Brooklyn is also trying to find his way and I love how Amelia believed in him and in return became his inspiration.
I don’t know if this book is part of a series, but it seemed as if some of the characters are interconnected with other books. It is a “stand alone” but I felt a bit lost in the beginning like I was missing a piece of a puzzle. I liked the story and things did come together. I just would have preferred a little more background. There are many mentions and character appearances from No Pants Required, Bedwrecker and The Connected Series.
I enjoyed the book and look forward to going back and reading No Pants Required and Bedwrecker to see where it all sort of began!
