Taylor Shaw had the perfect life—until she was sixteen. That was when everything changed. From that moment on, life went from bad to worse…to the worst.
After recovering from a brain tumor, months later, she suffers the tragic loss of her whole family.
Since that fateful day, she’s been coasting through life.
Now, the brain tumor has returned, and Taylor decides she’s had enough. She’s going to take her fate into her own hands.
No more hospitals. No more surgeries. No more anything.
She’s going to join her family.
It’s her decision.
What she longs for.
The ending she wants.
She just has a list of things to do before she goes.
First, go to England.
Second, kiss a stranger…
Only, Taylor didn’t expect Liam Hunter, the stranger—with his handsome face, his six-foot-three of gorgeousness, and his oh-so-hot English accent—to change things.
To change her.
To change the ending she wanted.
What is a girl, who is standing on the edge of nothing, to do when offered the chance of everything?
A Note from Samantha: Writing The Ending I Want has been a cathartic and exhausting process for me, but I have loved every second of writing it. I relate to this story more than any of the stories that I’ve written before. Maybe that’s because there’s a piece of me in this book. And not in Taylor having a brain tumor, because fortunately I’ve never had to endure anything like that. But for me, it was the need to feel free from something that has crippled me for many years, just like Taylor is crippled by her own pain. Taylor wanted to die to be free. I never wanted to die, but I did want to be free, in a way that’s hard to explain. But now, after years of feeling trapped by my demons, things that have held me back in life, I’ve found a way to get the freedom I needed. I’m still a work in progress, but I’m working better now than I ever did before – just saying this cryptic stuff out loud is a big step for me. So, writing Taylor in the way I did was a big deal for me. I really hope that you love this story, and see strength in Taylor’s choices rather than weakness.
LOUISA’S 4.5 STAR REVIEW
This book…Wow – it just blew me away. I read the first few pages and thought…oh no…I just can’t. A young girl with a brain tumor, my heart can’t take this. But as a faithful Samantha Towle reader I kept going. I am so glad I did.
Yes this book had quite a bit of sadness but it also has so much hope that my heart grew while reading it. (I am kinda like the Grinch).
Liam…ahh Liam. The quintessential alpha millionaire right? Nope, he was such a great guy, a genuine person. He was super sexy and had the dirtiest mouth, but his heart was pure and giving and he was oh-so-sweet. Taylor could hold her own with him which made me smile. Taylor is a bad ass in her own right. She’s so conflicted by her past and is unsure if she even wants a future. Can this dirty mouth, sweet and loving Liam change her to want it all, to want the ending that we all believe she deserves? This is the question that kept me turing the pages.
Liam came out of nowhere – but I am a big believer in fate. It was Taylor’s time to meet him. He brings her back to life.
Samantha Towle has once again written a book that will make you smile, laugh and shed a tear all on one page!
**And a little visit from Jake Weathers is also a bonus for me…I <3 Jake Weathers and The Mighty Storm**
DAWN’S 5 Bloody Great Stars REVIEW
SAMANTHA TOWLE continues to blow me away! Just FLAWLESS. I have read many of her books and it amazes me how she consistently writes unique and touching stories. Liam & Taylor’s journey is another prime example. It’s another book of hers that has it all…. Hot as hell chemistry, laugh out loud hilarious moments and chock full of overwhelming emotions. Two more characters to add to my list of favorites. I fell madly in love with them straight away….
THINGS I LOVED about The Ending I Want:
1.) An absolutely dreamy dirty talking English guy – Liam Hunter.
Think Henry Cavill! He is the perfect guy. A total alpha male, domineering, bossy, but he is balanced by tenderness and humor.
2.) A lovable tortured Heroine – Taylor Spencer.
Since she was 16 things have gone from bad to worse. She has so much sadness and guilt inside her. She’s afraid to live and rather die. Her innocence and spirit draws you to her.
3.) A beautiful whirlwind romance –
Liam Hunter is one of the most romantic book boyfriends ever. He swept Taylor and myself right off our feet. He kept me turning the pages to see what he would do next.
4.) The plot is surprisingly fun and whimsical with an underlying seriousness –
Taylor has a bucket list, things to do before she dies. With Liam’s help they begin to cross things off. This is where the fun begins… (a rubber ducky, a dance in the rain and a possible tattoo?!) With each task completed their feelings grow. Each scene had me either, heating up, swooning, laughing or heart aching! In between the joy, we get glimpses of Taylor’s debilitating sadness. Why should she be happy, while her family is dead? You can not help but feel for her.
5.) Smoking hot sex scenes –
This book should come with a fire warning!!!! Liam & Taylor’s chemistry almost made my kindle over heat.
By now you get what the book is about, Taylor has a brain tumor. She has decided, she’s going to let nature take its course and not treat it. After losing her family, she just wants to die and be with them. On a flight to England, she meets our English knight and shining armor Liam. Once they get to know each other, he has Taylor questioning her decision… Does she stick with her plan or fight to live? This book is a contradiction of emotions… One minute you are bursting with joy, the next you are aching with sorrow. I loved all the emotions it provoked. By the way, some of Samantha’s other characters make an appearance. I won’t say who, but they definitely brought the omg omg omg factor…. The Ending I want is another must read from Samantha Towle.
“Go to England. Kiss a stranger. Have lots of sex,” his deep voice rumbles out the words I wrote.
He glances at me over his shoulder, a shit-eating grin on his face.
I don’t even bother with trying to get the list back now. What’s the point? He’s already seen it.
Bastard.
I fall back into my seat, my face feeling like a blowtorch went at it. “You’re an asshole,” I mutter.
He turns to face me, my list in his hand but still held out of my reach. “Aw, don’t be like that, Taylor, from Boston. I was just curious to read it.”
I’m pretty sure he’s going for contrite, but he’s failing miserably.
I glare at him. I’m going for death-by-laser stare.
It doesn’t work because he gives me a panty-dropping smile. I’d like to say I’m unaffected, but I’m not; however, I don’t let him know that.
“Curious? I don’t think so. An effing thief? Yes.”
He laughs. “I’m sorry. But you don’t need to be embarrassed. It’s a good list.” He looks back to my list. “Have sex with a stranger,” he continues on reading. “Have sex with a stranger outdoors. You do know I can help you with all of these, right?” He lifts a brow at me.
I give him the middle finger.
He laughs again and looks back to the list. Then, he stops laughing and stares at me with what can only be described as complete horror. “You’ve never had oral sex?”
Fuck.
Why the hell did I put that on my list?
