LOUISA’S 5 STAR REVIEW
I went into this book blind, no synopsis read and no idea what it was about. My review will just be my feelings and thoughts while reading the book. I don’t need to tell you the characters or the story. I believe you need to experience every moment of this book with an open mind and heart.
It’s been a while since I have read a book that had me reflecting on my life. I often read romance to escape the everyday of my life. It’s not a bad life at all, but working, children, cooking and cleaning have become my life and reading is my world in which I escape the “real world”.
Occasionally I will read a book that will make me look at my life from a different angle. One that will make me appreciate the love I have and the memories that I have with my family. This book is one of them. I was introspective at times while reading and I love that most about this book.
At times this book was hard to read. I had a lump in my throat, tears running down my face and yes there was some snot! But I didn’t care, I kept reading and reading and reading. This book entranced me, grabbed a hold of my heart and never let go.
Thank you M. Leighton for sharing this with us, this personal and beautiful part of your heart. It made me look back to my childhood and remember some of my most favorite memories may have faded over the years. It made me think of my children and hope that my husband and I have made these traditions with them that they will carry on with them through their lives.
I think if my husband could he might thank you too, this story made me appreciate the love I have found in him and how he’s made my life better. Once I finished the book, I made sure he knew that he has made my life a better world.
An ARC was provided to Blushing Babes Are Up All Night in exchange for an honest review.
This personal note is something the author asked that we share with you:
A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
This book is not a romantic fairy tale. Yet, it’s the most romantic story I’ve ever told. It’s a journey of pain and loss, of hope and happiness. It’s both achingly tragic and exquisitely beautiful. It’s a love story. A true love story about real love. The kind that sees you through the night and holds you when you cry. The kind that won’t give up and never lets go. The kind we all dream about and few find. But it’s real. I promise you, it’s real. I’ve seen this kind of love, and I’ve seen this kind of heartbreak. I got to see it up close and personal, and quite honestly, I will never be the same. I hope it changes you as much as it changed me.
The Empty Jar
Three months touring Europe.
Romantic. Dazzling. Unforgettable.
The trip of a lifetime.
But some lifetimes are shorter…
We couldn’t have known it would work out this way. No one could. No one could’ve guessed that something so beautiful could be so tragic.
But it is tragic.
Yet so, so beautiful.
That’s what sacrifice is—beauty and tragedy.
It’s pain and suffering for something or someone you love.
And this is the ultimate sacrifice.
One stunning act of true love.
This is our story.
Our true love story.
