Tera’s 3.5 Blush Review
I adore Meghan Quinn, and she’s always a go-to author for me! She’s my queen of rom-com! While Runaway Groomsman had great characters, it fell a little short for me than Quinn’s typical stories.
What I liked:
The small-town vibes. Canoodle had all the charm to love in a typical small-town romance.
The characters. I really like Sawyer (hero), but I adored the secondary characters. The fiery best friend, Jaz, the lovable grandfather, Sully, and the reliable younger brother, Roarick were fabulous. They added so much to the story.
What didn’t quite work:
The pace. It was painfully slow for me but weirdly written well enough that I still wanted to power through and see how it would end.
The heroine. While I didn’t hate Fallon by any means, she just left a lot to be desired. This story is an incredibly slow burn, and Sawyer pining so sweetly for Fallon was great, but Fallon was like a switch. She just went from being cool with Sawyer to being in love with him immediately and then was frustrated by him wanting to take things slow.
Overall, this is still an enjoyable read. I think Ms. Quinn has executed a slow burn so much better in the past.
