Release Blitz ~~ The Bohemian and the Businessman by Katy Regnery
(The Blueberry Lane Series)
the self-proclaimed “wild child” of the straight-laced Story clan, has always
had a knack for getting herself trouble. Except this time, her “growing
problem” is going to require a Daddy sooner than later…or she can kiss her
inheritance good-bye.Shane Olson, who previously dated Priscilla’s sister, Margaret, isn’t opposed
to a marriage of convenience for the sake of furthering his business interests,
but Priscilla – with her wild ways – is just about the last woman he’d choose
In order to make the marriage look convincing, they end up having to spend more
time together than they’d originally planned. When rolling stone, Priscilla,
who lives by the seat of her muu-muu, and seriously-ambitious Shane, who’s had
his whole life planned since he was eleven, start falling for each other, it’s
going to take a whole lot of compromise for this Bohemian and her Businessman
to find their happily ever after.
LOUISA’S 4.5 STAR REVIEW
Priscilla and Shane – the most unlikeliest of couples.
I have read quite a few Katy Regnery books and I am going to continue to catch up on what I have missed!
Ms. Regnery has a beautiful way in which she writes. I was transported back to my childhood (I grew up in Haverford, PA – I was not from the “richie” side like our beautiful funky Priscilla). The beauty and snootiness of Haverford elite was portrayed to the T. It’s as if Ms. Regnery was here in the suburbs of Philadelphia watching these two.
Shane – a social climber who wants nothing but to leave his past behind, to be a powerful business man who never has to return to his family’s dairy farm ever again. Never to know what it’s like to not have money to pay for heat and lights or food on your table. To say he’s driven in his work goals is an understatement. He will whatever it takes to success. Even marry a woman he doesn’t love to get where he’s going. Shane works for Story’s Imports and has aspirations to take over the company one day – but there is only one way – that’s to marry a Story daughter.
Priscilla – the outcast daughter from the Story family. Since she was a child, she has been ridiculed and humiliated for being her own self. For being the “artsy-fartsy” girl. She had her own style and her own personal flair. Priscilla fled the confines of her life in Haverford for France where she spent time with Xavier – thinking he would be her forever man…WRONG. Priscilla is back and she’s about to be thrown out of her father’s house for good, and she’s going to lose her inheritance too.
Priscilla and Shane, like I said, are the most unlikely couple. But they need each other to reach their goals. His to be a successful businessman and her to get her inheritance. It’s the perfect plan, marry for convenience. The only problem is – they like each other. They can try and deny all they want, but from the moment they met years ago, the attraction was there.
I absolutely loved watching these two very different people, fall for each other. It’s not just a physical thing between these two, it’s not forced, it’s not insta love. It’s pure, sweet, falling in love.
Thank you, Katy Regnery for allowing me to watch these two grow as together and to watch it all unfold.
I look forward to more of these amazing sisters.
