Love Me in the Dark
One passionate, earth-shattering kiss. He was the artist upstairs
with the tantalizing smile and laughing eyes.
He was the devil inviting me to sin,
seducing me to dance in the bright moonlight.
He was desire and need.
When he touched me, my body sang.
My soul came alive.
But I belonged to another man,
and he didn’t want to let me go.

Louisa’s 4 Blush Review
You are always guaranteed a great read when it comes to Mia Asher.
Love me in the Dark is not different.
Two tortured souls who desperately need redemption in their lives.
One who has spent his life mourning of his first love and one who has not been true to herself – stuck in a relationship that is slowly changing who she is.
After finding her husband is cheating on her Valentina tries to be the dutiful wife, tries to forgive him, but time and time again he breaks her heart. This time, he promises her some time away, in Paris. She arrives first and the day he’s to arrive he lets her know that he won’t be coming. She finds herself in a position to re-invent herself, to finally do something that is uniquely Valentina, not the “Stepford wife” she has become.
She finds herself at an invite only art show and meets the man who may forever change her life.
Sébastien has spent his life not allowing himself to connect with others, to fall in love.
“Love is cruel for it makes one weak.”
He’s a ladies man who is just in for the fun time. But once he meets Valentina all will change.
This couple, who isn’t really a couple, begin as friends. There are definite sparks and electricity but Valentina is true to her vows.
This book had me all over the place, from the tears in the prologue to the super sexy, angsty fun loving characters. Mia Asher has once again captivated us with her beautiful writing and characters you will love.
“Darkness is around me until I see you. Then, it’s colors. Bright, bright colors I can’t describe.”
Tera’s 3.5 Blush Review
One thing Mia has never let me down on is that she can always write me a story that captivates me; however, for me, it fell just a little short in Love me in the Dark.
We are met with Sébastien and Valentina. Two broken people who are picking up each other’s pieces. Sébastien is simply swoon-worthy and incredibly charismatic and confident while Valentina is more lost, but extremely true to her wedding vows. However, where my problem sat is with Valentina. I felt she was extremely inconsistent and weak. This was even more frustrating because the potential of strong heroine was there, but she was just too little too late for me, and I’m not sure this was the intention.
“He’s danger inviting you to play, and only a fool would accept his invitation, or, perhaps only a fool wouldn’t.”
With that being said, I feel I am in the minority here. Most people will love this book. And the writing is absolutely stunning which did not surprise me. Mia is often poetic in her writing. Although this book has little angst (where Arsen is jammed packed with it), it is much more heartfelt. I really sympathized with Sébastien and the prologue was probably my favorite part.
“He is a storm that invites you to dismiss your shelter and step outside so you can witness–feel– the beauty of his obliteration.”
Again, truly beautiful writing, but the heroine didn’t do it for me. If Mia ever wanted to elaborate on these characters, I would most definitely contine their story.
“He kisses me like he’s dying and my lips are his last breath. It’s a kiss that rearranges the stars in my own little galaxy, setting my life in a new course, changing my destiny.”
