I’m Blake McQueen, daughter of Miles McQueen: businessman, politician, all around upstanding member of the community.
I’m told that name means something, but well, I’ve pretty much doused it in petrol, set it on fire, and taken a shit on it for good measure. I like to think of myself as a walking middle finger.
My name is now synonymous with booze, parties, sex, and drugs. I have to read the newspaper in the morning just to see where I was, possibly who I fucked, and judge my state of inebriation based on how much tit or minge is splashed across page five.
Judge me all you like, love me, hate me. I don’t give a fuck.
Life’s a party and you should never stop dancing.
But even the sweetest of highs has it’s low. There is only so high you can go before you fall, and fall I did, right into the arms of the only man that could possibly stop me from crashing and burning. I’ve always been untouchable. I’ve never cared enough to be touchable. Until now.
Love is the most destructive drug of all.
KERRY’S 4.75 STAR REVIEW
OMFG…this book is explosive & addictive. The story is nothing like you can imagine you won’t want to put it down. BTW – the cover is gorgeous it fits Blake perfectly.
The main characters will make you have a love/hate relationship them. Blake and Rhett were spectacular. The twists in the story will have you on edge of your seat. I wasn’t expecting them. This book has a lot of drug use, hot sex scenes, and is often heartbreaking to watch them self destruct.
Blake is the daughter of High Ranking Minster of Justice, a trust fund baby where image and appearances are everything. Appearances mean more to Blake’s parents than her love and happiness. Blake is lost, she feels unloved- she acts out and becomes the life of the party~drugs~alcohol~sex. She will be with anyone which leads her into the spotlight, it’s her way of sticking it to her parents but she doesn’t see the damage she’s doing.
Blake comes face to face with her one night stand. She was so high she doesn’t remember a thing. Rhett Torres is cocky alpha male. He is smoking hot, he will make your panties wet, I have to say the sex between them off the charts hot. Blake finds herself in Rhett presence again. Rhett Torres is just what Blake needs, he’s loyal and sticks by her through all of her destruction. But can Rhett be enough for Blake to change her party animal ways?
There are moments in High that are laugh out loud, you probably won’t look at Ben and Jerry’s ice cream the same. When Blake best friend Jenny suggest her to use hair removal cream on her lady parts, I couldn’t stop laughing. There are plenty of laughs but there is also heartbreak, angst, and Blake’s desperation was evident throughout the story. I loved Absolution so I had to give this a try and I’m not disappointed.
I love that the storyline is taking place in the UK and it’s written in a true British fashion with words I didn’t know, I had to google a few sayings but I loved every second of it!
An ARC was provided to BLUSHING BABES ARE UP ALL NIGHT for an honest review.
Lauren Lovell is an indie author from England. She suffers from a total lack of brain to mouth filter and is the friend you have to explain before you introduce her to anyone, and apologise for afterwards.
She’s a self-confessed shameless pervert, who may be suffering from slight peen envy.
