Seriously Jewel E Ann? Can you just stop making me cry like a little bitch? Just kidding – I love reading a book that just pulls me in and rips my heart out, stomps on it, and then slowly but surely puts it back together. That sounds somewhat crazy to like something like that but I did. I found this book to be the most beautiful display of fatherly love. Emmett does the ultimate sacrifice – he loves his daughter more than his wife, just as she asks, and in return loses his family. You will begin this book and the “what exactly happened to this family?” will go through your mind. Slowly but surely, the story comes out and my heart broke for this family. Just imagining how to survive this tragedy just broke me. Literally, sobbed while reading. Jewel E. Ann has the ability and talent to write a story that gets into your heart and soul, makes you feel what her characters are feeling and it’s just beautiful (and sad at times). Watching Emmett find his way, watching Tatum navigate the after and Lucy, their beautiful daughter, and her struggles was just amazing. Wow is all I can say – this book was fantastic.SYNOPSIS
