The people we love are thieves.
They steal our hearts. They steal our breath.
They steal our sanity.
And we let them.
Over and over and over again.
They say you never forget your first time.
Mine was with a homeless musician who effed my brains out under a bridge.
He was my first love. And fourteen years later, I still can’t get him out of my head.
He broke all my rules.
He also broke my heart.
I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar.
But I was never a fan; just a girl in love.
Like a tornado, he spiraled, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.
But love conquers all, right? It has to. Because here I stand, ravaged and ruined, needing it to be true.
You can’t go back, but I want to. Back to the bridge. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart.
I thought I knew everything about him.
But I could not have been more wrong.
He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting.
LOUISA’S 5 BLUSH, UP ALL NIGHT REVIEW
I have to preface and say this – before starting this book – set aside some serious time. This book is LONG. I do love a long book and especially when it’s a book where every single solitary word that is written is written with purpose and meaning and every word is needed to bring you into their lifelong relationship. The happy, the sad, the devastation, the ups, the downs and Carian Cole’s ability to bring me into their lives was perfection.
I didn’t even know I needed this book but once I began, this book filled my soul and took over. I needed a book like this, a book that I will never forget. I didn’t eat dinner, I didn’t drink anything while reading (and it was a Friday night people), I just read and read and read and read. I finally fell asleep in the wee hours of the morning and got up and read again…no coffee, no brushing of my teeth and no morning tinkle! I literally was obsessed and engrossed while reading this book.
These characters snuck into my psyche and heart and imprinted themselves forever. (Not unlike Ana and Christian, Kiera and Kellan, Ava and Jesse).
Blue – a man who was walking the world away, traveling from town to town, just moving with the wind with his dog and his guitar meets a sweet innocent girl in Piper. Piper a 21-year-old girl who lives with her parents lives her life through books and has a cat. She’s a shy young girl and he’s a beautiful, more worldly man. The most unlikeliest pair. Their chance meeting in 1998 will forever change their lives, for the good and the bad.
“Nobody ever said love had to be easy and perfect, Blue. It just has to be real, and honest, and able to weather the storm.”
The synopsis is tantalizing but its so much more than you can even imagine. From 1998 – 2019 you get to experience Blue and Piper and it’s just epic…seriously – this is an epic read, an epic love story, an epic story of life, forgiveness, friendship, devotion, and perseverance.
This book offers you romance, heartache, angst, maybe a second (third, fourth and maybe fifth) chance romance. Beautiful story, beautiful writing and a book hangover that rivals all other book hangovers.
About the Author:
I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts.
My first novel in the best-selling Ashes & Embers series, Storm, published in September of 2014. I have many books and sequels slated for this series. My new spin-off series, Devils Wolves, launched in 2016 with the best-selling novel, Torn. There are several books planned for this series as well.
Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.
