New Review~~ The Definition of Icing A Dallas Demons Hockey Romance by Aven Ellis
Synopsis
Kenley Hunter finally has everything sorted out. Fresh from studying chocolate making in Europe, she’s gambling everything on her new business, Confection Consultations. All Kenley wants in life is people to take her seriously, to see the person on the inside rather than the blonde beauty on the outside. While pursuing her passion of chocolate, Kenley discovered people seek her knowledge. They see past the exterior and fall for the chocolate delights in front of them. So with work as her focus, Kenley is ready to start her career in Dallas. Men are out of her recipe, because she fears that once they get past her looks, they’ll be disappointed in what they find. Kenley decides she’s all about the chocolate now. Or is she? Because a chance meeting with new Dallas Demon hockey star Nate Johansson might change everything. Sent to Dallas in a blockbuster trade, Nate is somewhere he doesn’t want to be, for reasons that have caused him heartbreak on multiple levels. Nate knows he will never trust a woman again after what happened to him in Minnesota. But when he meets a woman with an intriguing name and a passion for chocolate, Nate isn’t so sure about his theory. And he might just learn a definition of icing other than the one used in hockey with Kenley as his guide…
Nicole’s 5 Star Review
Dear Diary, You will not BELIEVE this! I’VE MET SOMEONE!!! I know! After Harrison Flynn in Waiting for Prince Harry, I swore I would never lose my heart to another Dallas Demons hockey player. It was just too much to just step aside and let Kylie Reed have him, but the heart wants what the heart wants. And my heart wants Nate Johansson. I met him in Aven Ellis’ newest novel, The Definition of Icing. It’s a Dallas Demons novel!! Oh, he is sooo dreamy and he’s new in town.
**I hereby volunteer to show him around and help him acclimate to his new environs!**
Anyway, on top of being a freaking gorgeous HOCKEY PLAYER, he’s really sweet and totally respects women and is interested in what they have to say and think. Unfortunately for my still tender heart, he only has eyes for Kenley Hunter. She’s smart, funny and just getting her new business off of the ground. (I could be her new BFF!) And she’s gorgeous (I hate her!!!). And she’s a Chocolate Consultant (I want to be her official taster). Annnd, I think she likes him too. What am I going to do?
I guess I’ll just have to give The Definition of Icing 5 stars because Aven Ellis knocked this one into the back of the net. Every one of her books has gotten better and stronger. Her stories are always fun and funny. She knows just how make her readers fall in big love with her male leads and truly adore the female leads. She keeps the drama light and the story real. I love that. The way she uses something ordinary (like chocolate or hockey) as a metaphor in/for life is truly unique and quite frankly what I look forward to most when I start another Aven Ellis novel. (I look forward to dreamy guys who give me butterflies and make me write goofy diary entries too!) I know this could wind up breaking my heart, but I really hope there is a third Dallas Demons novel. You never know, maybe I’ll score a hat trick and fall for that player too!
Kisses,
Nicole

About the Author
Aven Ellis has been writing fiction since she was sixteen. She studied communications at a large Midwestern university, and after graduation, Aven worked as a reporter for a community newspaper, followed by a stint at a public relations agency.
But writing about city council meetings and restaurant franchises was not as much fun as writing for young women trying to figure out their careers and potential boyfriends. So Aven got herself a job in television that allowed her to write at night. Connectivity is Aven’s debut novel; Waiting For Prince Harry and Chronicles of a Lincoln Park Fashionista (New Adult romantic comedy) will be published next year. Aven lives in Dallas with her family. When she is not writing, Aven enjoys shopping, cooking, connecting with friends on social media, and watching any show that features Gordon Ramsay.
