Nicole’s 4 Star Review
There is something about the idea of meeting some handsome stranger on a plane bound for exotic and distant locales that grabs my attention every time. In Peyton Sloane’s debut novel, Exploration, Jazz Mickelson finds herself in just that situation.
On a plane bound for France, Jazz meets Julian St. Sauveur. He is everything her life hasn’t been. He’s worldly, rich and full of life. Recently widowed at age 26, Jazz has spent the last several years caring for her dying husband. His death was a slow demise that robbed them both of a life meant to be lived. In an effort to take control of her life and live a little, Jazz decides to travel internationally. Julian is not your average multi-millionaire with a penchant for naughtiness and one night stands. He is actually searching for a deep and committed relationship. At one time, Julian thought he had them. It turns out he didn’t.
The two of them meet in First Class and “things” escalate quickly. In a HUGE step from her comfort zone, Jazz gets a little naughty right there on the plane. Julian is immediately both turned on and taken with Jazz, and offers Jazz a rather unusual proposal. Looking to try new things and have adventures, Jazz accepts.
Peyton Sloane’s tells their story with in a way that gives her debut novel a strong voice. She can definitely write an incredibly hot sex scene! Plenty of heat, chemistry and naughtiness for everyone!! 🙂 My biggest beef with this book is that it has a huge cliffie!! And it isn’t your typical cliffie, believe me!! I give Exploration 4 stars. Because of the HUGE cliffhanger, I immediately purchased the second book, Obstruction. I think you will too!!
I have been an extreme bibliophile since I was a kid, precociously finishing my first read of “Gone with the Wind” at age 12. I’ve had lots of stories whirling around in my head over the years and am grateful for the opportunities afforded by the relatively new world of self-publishing.
Personally, I am a wife, career woman and mom to 2 amazing little divas, hence their photo on my page, rather than mine, they are WAY cuter…
I ride a Harley, have ink, a smart mouth and a dirty mind – this latter always with apologies to my mom who wishes she could wash it out with soap!
This journey of writing I am on is by far the most landmark moment in my life. I will always hope that my characters and their stories will bring as much enjoyment to my readers as I get from writing them
