Jessica Sorensen Interview
Do you have any release dates for anything new that you want to share? Ehhem, (dramatic cough) The Forever of Ella and Micha, Callie and Kayden?
Unfortunately I don’t have any release dates at the moment. Once I do, I’ll post them everywhere.
You do a mix between paranormal and mature adult. Do you prefer one over the other?
I like writing new adult books a little bit more than paranormal because I have more of an opportunity to explore the characters lives and the problems they go through.
I personally can’t wait for the conclusion of Darkness Falls. Do you know when that will be out?
I’m planning on releasing the final book in the Darkness Falls Series sometime this spring, but they may change.
The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden is number 4 on the NY times best seller list and The Secret of Ella and Micha did awesome as well. Has the success of these two novels changed things for you?
In some ways it has. The biggest change would be that I’m working with a publisher now with Callie and Kayden and Ella and Micha and their follow ups books as well.
It seems like you always have a lot of stories going on at one time that you are working on, is that difficult to keep straight?
I usually focus on one story at a time, which makes it a little easier to keep things straight. However, there are times when I can’t remember if something fits in with the previous book in the series. My beta readers actually help me out with this sometimes. I’ll sometimes call them up and ask them questions like, hey can you remember what happened in this book, because I can’t.
Shattered Promises will be out soon and that is a re-imaging of the Fallen Star series. Will that have other books to it as well, or will this be a stand alone just for fun?
My plan is to do a re-imaging of each book in the series. They’re all just for fun, in case anyone wants to see how Gemma and Alex’s story would have went if they were older.
Is there one series that you have written that you love the most?
It would be a toss up between Ella and Micha and Callie and Kayden. I loved writing both of these books and I loved writing from the alternating POVs. I also just really enjoy writing New Adult Contemporary.
