Review
Fans of the Blue Bistro will enjoy this nostalgic trip down Elin Hilderbrand memory lane. I looooooved everything about this book, from the depictions of the hotel, to the Nantucket Blue uniforms, to the food and the nightlife. The characters and plot lines almost take a back seat to the shining star of this lovely novel: Nantucket Island. I’m convinced no one loves this Island like Elin does, and as a long time fan, I’ve come to love this island through her eyes as well. In The Hotel Nantucket, we have a ghost, a hotel revival, The Blue Book, a blast from the Blue Bistro past, and a love story. Elin writes the heck out of the scenery, the food, THE FOOD (The way she writes food makes me swoon) the drinks, the hot chef, the hotel staff drama, weaving it all together giving us the perfect summer escape. I felt like a hotel guest, a tourist on the island, experiencing everything in 5 Star fashion. I wouldn’t want to visit Nantucket any other way.
Another fun novel from the Queen of Beach Reads!
Louisa 5 Blush Review
I just can’t believe I didn’t listen to my blog partner sooner because Elin is the ULTIMATE beach read writer. I felt as though I was a guest at this hotel, watching this cast of characters move around, fall in love, succeed, fail and search for a ghost.
This book captured my attention quickly and I didn’t want to put it down it was that good! I also feel as though when a book ends and you just want more, it’s a good thing! I would love to hear about the next summer at Hotel Nantucket and see these characters again. Elin Hildebrand’s writing is captivating, so descriptive that I feel as though I was there, In Nantucket!
When reading -make sure you read the acknowledgment as Elin Hildebrand has the ultimate guide to Nantucket, The Blue Book, and everything you will ever need to know about a visit to Nantucket.
Filled with the emotional tension and multiple points of view that characterize Elin’s books (The Blue Bistro, Golden Girl) as well as an added touch of historical reality, Hotel Nantucket offers something for everyone in this summer drama for the ages.
