I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the author and holy cow, I read the entire thing cover to cover in one sitting. I haven’t done that in YEARS. It’s is brilliant, beautiful, and utterly devastating. I know I’m in the minority when I say I really love cliffhangers, especially ones that punch you right in the gut and leave you breathless. Aly Martinez has certainly landed a blow I won’t forget anytime soon. Everything about this book is magic. The writing, the characters, and especially the storyline. Remi and Bowen are perfect together. I absolutely adore their banter and flirting. Remi is adorable and I had to sort myself a few times when my husband caught me grinning at my kindle like a loon. The way these two fall for one another is the truly beautiful part. The devastation is brilliantly laced throughout the entire book. It’s there right from the beginning as we learn about Bowen’s fiancé and everything they endured together. Right when you think Martinez has given us the perfect HEA, she delivers one final blow that will knock your socks off. I’m counting down the days until book 2. This is gonna be one hell of a ride. And I am here
for it .
