Christina’s 5 Blush Review
Jennifer Hartmann has become a must-read for me. June First solidified my fandom for life. This book was so so good. It’s one of the best books I’ve read this year.
June First isn’t a romance. It’s a love story. Parts of it appear romantic but at its core, this is a love story. What makes it so captivating is that it is forbidden, but in my opinion, less taboo than others might feel. I was team June and Brant literally from the beginning. I knew their story would be epic, and it was. What I wasn’t expecting, was the devastation and heartbreak that both these characters would experience. Brant was an amazing Hero. He might be my favorite Hartmann hero so far. He was sweet, kind, resilient, and fiercely protective. I felt like I was falling for him, right along with June.
Hartmann does such a good job at making the reader feel allllllll the feels. Her writing is a touch above and her storytelling is unique and unexpected. Highly recommend!!
Stephanie’s 5 “Over the Rainbow stars” Review
“Have a remarkable day”
What an amazing read! June First had heart-pounding moments from chapter one! It is an emotional roller-coaster. Once again I was consumed by the beautiful writing and intense/unique storyline. Love, loss, hope, fear, forgiveness and second chances fill the pages. Jennifer Hartmann has quickly become a favorite author and an absolute 1-click. I literally had to put the book down periodically because I felt so many raw emotions. And then – an unbelievable twist.
“I can only love you. There’s no other way.”
June First is the beautifully written journey of Brant Elliott. His beginning is tragic. The pace is slow and full. You feel every emotion, every heartbreak, every longing. My heart was gutted. And then there is June. June and Brant form an unbreakable bond filled with love and happiness.
“She claimed my good and my bad, my light and my dark.”
I am struggling to express how much I loved this book without giving anything away. I was swept away, mesmerized by Brant and June’s relationship, and their dynamics. You just have to pull the trigger and take the journey. I promise it is well worth it! Although there is a “Trigger warning – Forbidden/taboo relationship” Brant and June’s story unfolds organically with side notes and explanations that will impact your perception. Again, Jennifer Hartmann is writing exceptional, amazing, gut-wrenching stories that will stay with you for days! Also worth noting are the cameos from Lotus (yay!) – Kip, Clementine, and others!
“Life’s too short to hate the people we love the most.”
𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗥𝗕
Want to know what happens to a man who barely claws his way out of a tragedy, only to fall right into the arms of the one girl in the world he can never have? Another tragedy, that’s what. When I was six years old, my father made a choice that altered the course of my entire life. Because of what he did, the only girl I ever loved became the only girl I couldn’t have. In a lot of ways, I did have her… I had her first steps, her first words, her first smile. I had her milestones, her heartbreaks, her dreams. I had her heart so woven in with mine, I didn’t know where she ended, and I began. Only, as the years pressed on, lines became blurred—and the blurrier the line, the easier it is to cross. They say tragedy comes in threes. For me, that was true. The first one changed me, the second one broke me, and the third one healed me.
But at the center of all that tragedy… there is a love story. And at the center of that love story, There is June. GOODREADS ➜ https://bit.ly/JF-GR
