Dual Reviews ~~ Happily Letter After by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward
Sandy’s 4.75 Blush Review
Sebastian Maxwell is DILF! He’s also a widower with an adorably precocious little girl (Birdie). He coped with his grief by diving into work and centering his life around her. Until Sadie.
Sadie Bisset is a journalist who doles our dating advice in “Modern Miss”. Except during the holidays when she plays Secret Santa as part of her job. That is the thing that sets her on a collision course with the previously mentioned DILF.
Birdie writes to Santa. The letter is so poignant that it compels Sadie to grant her wish. More letters follow and before long, Sadie is on her doorstep, bonding with Birdie and vibe-ing with Sebastian.
For her – There is just the issue of those little white lies. You tell one, you have to tell another and another. How to walk away now when she’s quickly become invested?
For him – His daughter is blossoming. His heart is opening to possibilities that he thought over. Can he trust what he’s feeling?
Told in a dual point of view with the trademark humor I’ve come to expect from Vi and Penelope. Happily Letter After is a funny, sweet and sexy story of second chances that will touch your heart.
HEY Hallmark Channel! This one would make a perfect movie!
Louisa’s 4.5 Blush Review
Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have this amazing ability to write characters that you just want to be friends with. Sadie is someone I need in my friend circle. A bit of a klutz and a heart of gold!
Now, Sebastian might not have been invited into this friend group at first glance because his first meeting with Sadie, he was kind of a jerk, but he redeemed himself and without provocation. He knew he was a cranky, mean guy and that Sadie didn’t deserve.
How these two met is a twisty, turny road. By chance, by fate, by destiny, I am not quite sure but the road to their meeting, their blossoming friendship then the relationship was beautiful to watch. The cherry on top? Birdie – Sebastian’s 10-year-old daughter. The jimmies on top? Marmaduke – Birdie’s lovable Great Dane.
This book had all you would want in a romance, an epic love story, a friendship, a hot Dad (well, not every romance has that but this is a bonus!).
Once again, Vi & Penelope have given us a story of growth, love, and happiness.
