Nicole’s 4 Blush Review

What happens when you cross collusion with Russia and The Thomas Crown Affair? You get KJ McGillick’s new novel, Three.

When Emma Collier’s domestic partner goes missing, her whole world turns upside down. Not only has her man gone AWOL, but she finds herself involved in what can only be described as something out of a movie. Somehow, her identity is stolen and is linked to a huge international art theft ring that reaches Russia and the Middle East.
Her rescue comes in the form of Cillian O’Reilly, an FBI agent with the Arts Crime Team. Turns out he’s been on the trail of these art thieves for some time and knows more about Emma than she realizes. Working both the case and keeping his cover intact, he tries helping Emma through the web of lies in which she is entangled, while trying to keep her safe from the bad guys.
I really enjoyed this book. The story is pretty fast-paced, but doesn’t lose you in the process. I loved the characters, but loved the story more. It was interesting and suspenseful. There are twists and turns that take the story to Europe and back to the States. In the middle of it all, there is a love story between Emma and Cillian that was bound to happen. I was able to read Three in 24 hours because I could not put it down. Be warned… this book ends in a cliffie, something I did not see coming!! Hopefully, the next book in the series, Two, will be out sooner rather than later.
