About SEED
The explosive continuation of the Evergreen Series from New York Times bestselling author Cassia Leo.
The seeds of doubt have been planted.
Two to six weeks. That’s how long it takes, on average, to get a divorce in Oregon.
With Jack convinced I betrayed him, I expect to be served divorce papers within hours of moving out. But weeks pass without word from Jack, and the papers never arrive. Though my heart isn’t ready to give up on him, I can’t shake the feeling that we may be better off apart. And Isaac is more than happy to help me move on.
But just as I begin to build some semblance of a life and career, a new and improved Jack arrives on my doorstep. Divorce papers are the furthest thing from his mind as he delivers news that both shatters me and restores my faith in the love we shared. But is it too late for us?
Stephanie’s 4.5 Blush Review
The seeds of doubt have been planted.
Why! Why! Why! are my first thoughts!!! Seed is book #2 in The Evergreen series. You must read Dirt before reading Seed. Dirt, (book #1) blew me away and ended with a powerful and almost volatile scene! And then the wait began…. Or in my case, the most impatient wait ever!
He was, without question, the great love of my life. He was my best friend, my lover, my protector, my caregiver, my everything.
Jack and Laurel have suffered unimaginable tragedy. They have been trying to work through their grief for three years. Things take a sharp turn at the end of Dirt after an unraveling of events that led Jack to declare that he wants a divorce. Of course he does it “Jack” style – after an intense “angry fuck.”
“But what you and Jack have… Well, it’s big. It’s messy. It’s consuming. But in the end, it’s still love, and it’s still very much alive. You can’t bury that.”
Laurel is shattered and confused. She leaves, heading back to her mother’s house to regroup. There are still so many loose ends that need to be resolved. Isaac remains in the picture and lines become blurred. Time is not their friend. And time will indeed be the center of all that happens. Too early, too late or just idle, time is everything in this story.
After a talk with his dad, Jack realizes he must fight for his marriage. But he must also close the door on the past and his quest for justice. Jack closes himself off from everyone for weeks, not realizing the state he left Laurel in.
“The ones we love are the ones with the power to hurt us most.”
Laurel is lost and desperately trying to find her way. She is picking up the pieces that were left, trying to move on, while having no idea that Jack is trying to make his way back. Circumstances and situations. As I mentioned above, timing is EVERYTHING! That is all that I can really say without a spoil…..
Seed is just as intense as Dirt. Cassia Leo is weaving a web that will trap you! This has been a fantastic series and I may die if I don’t get the conclusion Bloom soon….
“Because that’s love. It makes absolutely no fucking sense.”
