Author: Devney Perry
Genre: Contemporary Romance
About The Bitterroot Inn:
Her past. His secrets. They have more in common than she knows.
Maisy is happily content with the life she’s built for herself and her young son in small-town Prescott, Montana. Her child is thriving, her business is growing, and her family is as close as they’ve ever been. But when a handsome stranger walks into the lobby of her motel, her simple life is swept up in a wave of affection for his gentle heart. None of those feelings can be trusted, though. She made that mistake before with another man. The man she murdered.
Hunter was a different man when he first saw Maisy Holt from afar. He took one look at her and ran in the opposite direction. But years later, he’s back in Montana and unable to keep his distance. He shouldn’t have tried to find her but he never was good at rejecting temptation. The promise of the good she could bring into his life is too hard to resist. Maybe if he can disguise the lies and hide the deceit, he can keep her from learning the truth. Because his only chance at a future with her is by burying his past.

Christina’s 4.25 Blush Review
I have been a HUGE fan of Devney Perry’s ever since reading The Coppersmith Farmhouse which was her first novel in The Jamison Valley Series. While this series is interconnected and each novel stands alone, I highly recommend reading The Coppersmith Farmhouse before reading The Bitter Root Inn. Even though there are a few books in between the two, we first meet Maisy in The Coppersmith Farmhouse and while her character in that novel is mostly supporting, there is a pivotal scene that will really help you to understand what Maisy has been through and just how far she has come. Plus, The Coppersmith Farmhouse was a top read for me last year so even though I am here to review The Bitter Root Inn, I think you should also read The Coppersmith Farmhouse to really enjoy this novel.
The Bitter Root Inn is a romantic suspense featuring single mother Maisy and hot doc Hunter. Not only is Maisy a single mom to an adorable little boy AND running her very own Inn (can we say “super mom!”), but she has been through hell and back. Maisy’s transformation from the first book in this series is amazing and I couldn’t wait until she got her very own story and her own chance at love again. Enter Hunter Faraday. This man gave me ALL THE FEELS. My heart literally squeezed so many times throughout this book in the most warm and fuzzy way. I loved Maisy and Hunter together. As this tale unravels, we witness not only Hunter and Maisy coming together in a beautiful way, but also the sweet and innocent love developing between a father and son. Hunter was protective of Maisy and Coby in a way that turned me into a puddle of mush over and over again. And even when I thought I couldn’t get any mushier, Hunter would do something so SWOON worthy that I’d smile and melt all over again. What really kicked this story up a notch for me, was the suspenseful story line that kept me up late at night turning pages. As a mom of a toddler boy, I think parts of this story really tugged at my heartstrings and I even found myself tearing up throughout the book which doesn’t usually happen. And of course, the cast of supporting characters all of whom we’ve met in the other Jamison Valley novels once again come together to support and love each other in times of pain and heartbreak. There is something so special about small town romances and Devney Perry has the ability to make you feel like you’re right there, living in Jamison Valley with all of these amazing friends and people that have your back. I love her writing!
This was definitely my favorite book in the series. It’s rare that I will name a third or fourth book in a series as my favorite since it’s usually the first book that remains my favorite, but Devney Perry’s writing is just that good. And her book covers!!! Her book covers are a thing of beauty, each with a gorgeous color theme and image which would look absolutely GORGEOUS on my book shelf 🙂
I can’t wait to see what Devney Perry has in store for her fans next!
