How to Seduce a Bad Boy
Melody Bryant has heard it all before. Sure, she’s the epitome of the stereotype for a librarian. Loves order. Loves rules and deadlines. Loves books. But what she doesn’t love is still being a virgin at twenty-four. Unfortunately, the only guy she’s ever been interested in turned her down flat. And then left town. Eight. Years. Ago. Ugh.
Now her birthday is fast approaching and she just can’t take it any longer. She’s finding a guy before her birthday in five weeks or she’s adopting two more cats and fully embracing becoming “the crazy cat lady.”
But when her latest date ends in epic failure–everyone thinks of her as the “proper librarian,” she realizes what she needs is to ruin her reputation. And she knows the perfect guy to help her: the baddest bad boy in town. This Army vet won’t know what hit him.
Sandy’s 3.75 Blush Review
Melody Bryant is a librarian. She’s also A 24-year-old virgin who wants to break out of the stereotype. How fast can she ruin her good girl reputation and get on the road to romance and love? She thinks she knows just the guy to get it done. Adam Foster. No biggie that it’s her big brother’s BFF and she’s been crushing on him since she was a teenager.
Adam Foster was a troublemaker as a teen. That was then. The military gave him structure. He has served his country honorably. Now he’s back home as part owner of the busiest mechanic shop in town. He’s got the hots for the gown librarian. Problem is his best friend and business partner is her older brother so she’s off limits. Right?
Melody wanted Adam and this time taking no for an answer was not an option. Adam has to save her from being the crazy spinster cat lady. Reluctantly, he agrees to help her “tarnish” her image to make her appealing to other guys. Then the “play acting” starts to get real. Falling for her was not in the plan. He’s not good enough for a girl like her.
These characters were engaging and so was the supporting casts.
The reactions of the people in town is predictable. What’s she doing with him kinda thing. Just what Melody wanted. The makeover her BFF Lilly gave Melody has guys taking notice. Adam is noticing too and doesn’t much like it. Melody sees only Adam. How can she let him go and move on after Adam has turned out to be everything she imagined?
So here are my thoughts – These two are adorable and I really enjoyed them. My problem? The flirting was hot. The kissing was hot. The innuendo was hot. Then we get to their first time having sex and we fade to black! Come on! I felt cheated after everything that led up to that point.
I wasn’t so interested in the darker aspects of what happened while Adam was enlisted. I wanted light, funny, sexy romance and Traci Douglass did that nicely. If you’re the type of reader that wants a little steam but not the full Monty then How to Seduce a Bad Boy is perfect.
