Blog Tour: THE IMPACT of YOU by Kendall Ryan
A New Adult Romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kendall Ryan
Needing an escape from her past, Avery chooses a college where no one knows her. Keeping a low profile was the plan, falling for the intense frat boy, Jase wasn’t. Yet she can’t deny how alive she feels when he’s near. Even as common sense implores her to stay away, her body begs her to get closer.
Jase, numb from his own family drama, has grown bored with weekends fueled by nameless girls and countless bottles when he meets Avery. Helping her cope with her past is better than dealing with the bullshit his own life’s served up. Determined to drive away the painful secret she’s guarding, he appoints himself her life coach, and challenges her to new experiences. Getting close to her and being the one to make her smile are simply perks of the job.
But when Avery’s past boldly saunters in, refusing to be forgotten, can Jase live with the truth about the girl he’s fallen for?

I’m a huge fan of Kendall Ryan’s and love the humor she infuses into her sexy, romantic stories. The Impact of You was without exception a story of hope, love, acceptance of past mistakes, and learning to take chances. This was a well-done transition to the New Adult Romance genre!
I absolutely loved Jase and Avery! Jase – sigh – he’s a manwhore who is discovering that he wants to change his ways even though they are difficult to give up. Yes, I wanted to reach through and kick him in the balls at least once with his behavior but in the end, his sweet sexiness won me over. I would have liked for Avery to not accept his behavior quite so easily though.
Avery – My heart broke for Avery and all the nastiness that occurred after making a decision in high school that has the potential to hurt her for many years. Behind all her fears of what will happen when her secret is known is a strong, funny girl. I loved watching her grow throughout the story and how Jase played a significant role in it.
The dialogue flowed perfectly and Kendall used the dual POVs very well with having each transition pick up right where the other left off so I didn’t have to re-read a scene from the other POV. Overall, a wonderful foray into the NA genre for Kendall Ryan and a story with characters I enjoyed getting to know.

Jase and Avery have an instant chemistry. Avery is your average messed up girl with a sordid past. She is adamant about not getting into a relationship. She keeps most people at a distance accept her two very theatrical best friends. Jase also has a past with a slue of women. His friends joke and call him a Greek god because he is that hot. Something about Avery’s reluctance to date has Jase incredibly interested.
Avery is raised by two dads. I really like the way Kendall Ryan wrote about this. She presented it like it was completely normal, and in my opinion it is. Avery is adopted and this story has a side element to it about adoption. Avery struggles with her feelings of being adopted.
Jase wants to push Avery. He has so many sexy lines. The build up and sexual tension is insurmountable. They face a lot of obstacles. One thing that bothered me about Jase is, he knew that Avery was hiding something from her past. I felt like he bailed a little to easy. I was mad for Avery.
For the most part I enjoyed this story. It’s a quick sexy read, that has your toes curling more than once.
