I was warned about Tristan Cole.“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s damaged.”It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster. But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.
Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.
LOUISA’S 4.5 STAR REVIEW
People, people, people. Lend me your ears for just a few moments.
This book…this book, this book…just beautiful…cover to cover!
First of all, we need to address the cover. Just absolutely beautiful. And thank you for choosing this cover, because as I read this book, I envisioned Tristan as this beautiful man.
Ok, so the book. I absolutely loved this book. The story of 2 very damaged, lonely lost souls who didn’t know how to survive life with what they had been dealt. Elizabeth had her beautiful daughter, Emma who made her move on with her life…well at least wake in the morning and go through the motions. Tristan however, had no reason to live. No reason to interact with others. Their meeting was not a pleasant meeting but would change their lives forever.
This book is about healing, trust, moving forward and living. Just a beautiful portrayal of second chance. This couple may have started their relaationship on the wrong note, using each other to fill the void, but it turned into so much more.
Thank goodness for Elizabeth’s sweet little one Emma (aka Tock), I believe she was the catalyst to Tristan’s heart thawing and allowing the ice to melt and let some love back into his heart.
There are twists and turns like any good book. One of which was somewhat predictable but Brittainy brought it all together which made the fact that is was predictable, more beleiveable. This story was a beautful story of love and survival!
Take the time to jump into this magnificent book.
Brittainy Cherry has been in love with words since the day she took her first breath. She graduated from Carroll University with a Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts and a minor in Creative Writing. She loves to take part in writing screenplays, acting, and dancing–poorly of course. Coffee, chai tea, and wine are three things that she thinks every person should partake in! Brittainy lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her family. When she’s not running a million errands and crafting stories, she’s probably playing with her adorable pets.
