Blog Tour: SEVEN DAY FIANCE by Rachel Harris
Angelle Prejean is in a pickle. Her family is expecting her to come home with a fiancé—a fiancé who doesn’t exist. Well, he exists, but he definitely has no idea Angelle told her mama they were engaged. Tattooed, muscled, and hotter than sin, Cane can reduce Angelle to a hot mess with one look—and leave her heart a mess if she falls for him. But when she ends up winning Cane at a charity bachelor auction, she knows just how to solve her fiancé problem.
Cane Robicheaux is no one’s prince. He doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love. When sweet, sultry-voiced Angelle propositions him, he hopes their little game can finally get her out of his head. He doesn’t expect her to break through all his barriers. But even as Angelle burrows deeper into his heart, he knows once their seven days are up, so is their ruse.

Sometimes I need a sweet, romantic love story without too much angst or too much pain. Seven Day Fiance fit that to a ‘T’. Rachel Harris wrote a fun, deliciously sweet story about Cane Robicheaux and Angelle Prejean. It is set in Cajun country which added some tasty and fun cultural elements.
From the very beginning, I found myself laughing along with Angie’s internal dialogue; I even felt like smacking myself on the forehead a few times with her when she did something silly. I was rooting for her from the beginning. Angelle needs a fake fiance and finds herself asking her roomie’s brother to help her out. Cane, damn, he’s a hottie extraordinaire! A tatted up bad boy, restaurant owner, and all around great guy. He’s a hard one to pin down and has never wanted a relationship that he could potentially ruin like his father did. Angie caught his eye when she came to town several months ago. Serious fireworks go off between these two!
Fun and hilarity ensues after Angie wins Cane in the eligible bachelor auction and he agrees to be her fiance. There are also some sexy moments between Angie and Cane that hint at their time together. Elements of family, relationships, growing a backbone, commitments, and discovering what you really want are also part of the story.
Although this is the second book in the series, I did not read the first and I feel this is definitely a standalone. Maybe I would have seen more of Cane and Angie’s history if I’d read the first but I loved them just the same. If you want a meet-cute, tasty, fun, light romance that has you sighing and swooning, Seven Day Fiance is the one for you.
Nicole’s Review 4 Stars
I am a sucker for romantic comedy movies! I love when boy meets girl; girl blows boy’s mind and boy must have girl! I love it! My faves include “Say Anything”, “When Harry Met Sally”, You’ve Got Mail”, “Never Been Kissed”…you get the picture! Rachel Harris’ Seven Day Fiancé has the same qualities as any one of those films! It has a female character that is relatable, stubbornly independent and unknowingly sexy. The male character is just enough bad boy, rock star, nerd to make a girl swoon! The story that holds them both is funny and sweet with just enough “I wish I could be her and meet a guy like him” in it to make a girl sigh!
Angelle Prejean is starting over. She left home after a very public proposal from her longtime boyfriend made her see just how much she needs to get out on her own. Angelle has spent most of her life doing what others expect her to do with little or no thought as to what she wants to do. Her family is very prominent in her hometown. It seems that everyone in town knows her business and has something to say about it.
Cane Robicheaux is something of a paradox. He oozes sex, but is a nerd at heart. He plays in a rock band, but can belt out a ballad that leaves the girls in the room breathless. He looks like and acts like a bad ass with all of his ink and attitude, but really has a sensitive side that shows just how much more there is to Cane Robicheaux.
When Angelle and Cane finally meet after months of being completely attracted to each other from afar, the sparks really fly. When Angelle saves Cane from a certain fate, she asks him to save her from one as well. What starts as a simple ruse to dupe her family and hometown friends turns into so much more than either Cane or Angelle ever bargained for!
Seven Day Fiancé is a great read! It is sweet and romantic; funny and serious; simple and so much more than you expect! Rachel Harris does a wonderful job of telling an almost fairy tale story with relatable characters in a believable setting. Honestly, I read this book in a day! Not because there wasn’t anything to it or because I just wasn’t committed. I read it in a day because I got lost in the story, the setting and the magic of girl meets boy! I give Seven Day Fiancé 4 stars!
