It Ends with Us
Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.
Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-too-human characters, It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

LOUISA’S 5 HEARTBREAKINGLY, BEAUTIFUL STAR REVIEW
I wasn’t sure it was possible for me to love another Colleen Hoover book more than Maybe Someday…well she has done exactly that. Along with MS, this book took my breath away, multiple times. I found myself holding my breath while reading, my heart was racing, I felt lightheaded and ultimately I was blown away with every moment of this book. We learn of strength and forgiveness and love and sacrifice.
Why do people write reviews for books? To encourage others to read it and subsequently buy it? To tell the author that they like their book? Both of those reasons are good. But for me, this review is all about ME becoming a better person after reading a book, this book!
So – who should read this book? Well – in my humble opinion, any one who has ever had a relationship before. Not just a romantic relationship, not just a husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend relationship – but anyone who has ever had A relationship, be it a mother/daughter, father/son, sister/brother or even a DQ worker who makes your favorite Blizzard (yeah – I may have a relationship with that girl)…this book is for everyone. We can all learn from it and possibly change the way we think about things in life that may affect us right now, may affect us someday, or maybe just affect us indirectly one day when we are at said DQ for our Blizzard.
Colleen Hoover has the ability to write amazing, thought provoking books and for me, this one was a perfection. She blew me away with her honesty, raw grit and beautiful and sometimes hard to read story. This book, like all Colleen Hoover books, is one of a kind. There are no other books out there like this!
Go into this book blind…read it and learn and maybe thank me later for suggesting it. Or, I don’t know – leave a review so someone else will see what you thought of it and decided to read it.
I wanna be ColleenHoover or her mother when I grow up.
TERA’S 5 STAR REVIEW
I’m still not sure I can review this book, but I’ll give it a fair shot. Which means it will probably be unfair because seriously…. it’s Colleen Hoover.
I have likened Colleen to fine wine. She gets better and better with age. I doubt age as anything to do with it, but experience probably does. This book is raw and very different for Colleen to write, but she nailed this book. She nailed the feels. She nailed the experience.
The characters in this book are ridiculously well-written. I loved Ryle. I think I still love Ryle. I loved Atlas and I still love him, too. And I loved Lily. And I definitely still love Lily. So without spoiling anything with this review, go fall in love with these (or some) characters and meet a side of Colleen you haven’t ever met. And then read the author’s note (definitely read it after you read the book). Because I most definitely want to be Colleen when I grow up.
STEPHANIE’S 5 AMAZING, HOPEFUL AND LOVING STARS REVIEW
As I sit here after reading this amazing book for the secondtime I have tears in my eyes. Colleen Hoover is such an amazing author. She literally ripped her heart open for us. This book says so much about her strength, her courage, and conviction. This story. A story that in many ways is a parallel of her own life. The love she has for her family and her mother is just amazing.
When I got the ARC I read it slowly the firsttime. I didn’t want to be rushed. Many times when you get a new Colleen Hoover book you just can’t wait to devour it. So I sat and took my time with it. When I finished it I was just stunned. I had no words. So I let it sit with me.
I picked the book back up a few weeks later to read it again. Except this time I knew what would happen. I saw 2 things: the first was that I was glad that no one spoiled the book for me. You only get one first time to read and experience a book. I got to do this without knowing anything except for the blurb.
And second: The authors note at the end from Colleen. That’s when I really needed the tissues. I had wondered for many months when the book was announced what the title could possibly mean “It Ends With Us”. I know and I understand now how significant that title is.
I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who has ever loved anyone. No spoilers here. Go in blind, go in raw. Be prepared to feel, to hope, to cheer, to love and to cry.
I say to you Colleen Hoover thank you once again for sharing a truly amazing story. A piece of your soul. Keep on doing what you do best –writing amazing books!
