What a fun read! When I started the book I was worried that it would be filled with political agendas. I was pleasantly surprised!
Addison Monroe is working for the Callahan Campaign. She is called in by her boss for a meeting which ends up being a meeting with Senator Callahan himself! The race to secure the presidential nomination is very close.
An image consultant is hired to see what could be done to improve their numbers. And the conclusion is this: Barrett Callahan, adult son of Senator Callahan, is a liability to the campaign due to his “extracurricular” activities and playboy ways. A proposition is made….
“I need for you to pose as Barrett’s fiancée through the remainder of the campaign.”
So a plan is made to spin a modern day fairy tale between Barrett and Addison. They meet and clash…
“I see Barrett’s met his match in you.”
“We’re either going to be a tremendous help to the campaign, or we’ll end up killing each other.”
Addison is kind, quirky, beautiful, Ivy League-educated and independent. She was hurt by her ex-boyfriend who cheated on her so she is less trusting that anything will develop with Barrett.
Barrett is a hot playboy who likes to party! He doesn’t care if there are pictures of him from his escapades in the gossip mags. He is funny, charming and caring, confident and does not want a commitment. However, as he spends time with Addison he begins to grow and change.
The relationship between Barrett and Addison evolves after being in such close quarters for so long. The banter between them is great! The chemistry, whoa! HOT!
I really enjoyed this story! It was refreshing and funny! I found myself laughing out loud. The story is smooth and flows quickly. I wanted to post some of the banter but it was naughty! Loved it!
