Blog Tour & Review ~~ El Diablo by M. Robinson
a choice. I was a bad man, never claimed to be anything else. I’ve done things
I’m not proud of. Seen things that can’t be unseen. I’ve caused pain that I
can’t undo.
M. Robinson – with each book you are sneaking into my heart as one of my favorite authors. You have given my some dirty, some beauty in love, some serious angst, some heart wrenching words and now…EL DIABLO…Alejandro Martinez is just, I can’t find the words…
I was hooked from the first few pages. This man was truly the devil. He was essentially doomed from the beginning. He wouldn’t have a chance to change his fate. The son of a notorious Columbian mobster his life was mapped out for him. Often times while reading I was cringing that a young boy/man would be subjected to the violence and cruelty he was, but it was the foundation that would make him El Diablo.
This book begins with Alejandro as a boy and spans his lifetime. And through out his life he experiences unbelievable loss which will forever disable his ability to truly love and trust. In walks Lexi…
His need to protect her from the moment he met her made me understand that she would be the one person to change his ways…or so I thought. The angst and back and forth of their relationship made me scream at my kindle – many many times – too many to count. Just as I thought “she’s gotten through to him”, he would pull back and be an absolute asshole.
Lexi deserved so much more than what he was giving her but her pull to him was also so strong. She didn’t grow up with the best life but was determined to be the best she could. She was a fierce and such a strong presence in this book. One of the few people who challenged Martinez, which made me #TeamLexi from the moment we met her!
Every Devil needs and Angel. And she was mine.
The twists and turn in this book had me going every way. Just went I thought I had figured it out, BAM…nope you don’t. But that’s what makes a great book to me!
This is surely the darkest book by M. Robinson but it may also be her best one yet. And from someone who’s not a huge “dark romance” fan, I think that says a lot.
M. Robinson has written a book that never strayed from the true path of El Diablo!
“I’m fine,” she stubbornly replied. Shaking her legs and arms out. Getting back into position, looking at me through the mirror.
I cocked my head to the side, arching an eyebrow. She narrowed her eyes at me, but begrudgingly listened. I pressed play, allowing the melody to once again take over. She placed her leg on the lowest barre, making her ass stick out in my direction.
Tempting me.
She closed her eyes, needing to get lost in the music, wanting to push away all the negative thoughts, already feeling discouraged. I stood, taking off my suit jacket. Rolling up the sleeves of my collared shirt as I stepped onto the hardwood floor. I slowly came up behind her, catching her off guard.
She froze, turning around, opening her eyes. Peering up at me through her lashes. “What are you doing?”
I leaned forward against her ear, grinning. “I’m helping you stretch.” Getting down on my knees in front of her.
Her eyes dilated. The feeling of disappointment replaced with nothing but lust. She placed her arms out to the side, resting up against the barre, supporting her weight. I grabbed her ankle, lifting it up in the air, rubbing along her leg as it was fully stretched, before setting it on the lowest barre. Running my other hand up her side, easing her over toward the extended leg. She understood what I was doing, reaching for her ankle, stretching. Standing back up, bringing her arms above her head, I caressed along her leg again, casually turning her torso so her leg was still placed on the barre behind her.
Her breathing hitched as I touched her all over her lower body. My lips softly kissing the inside of her thigh to where she wanted my mouth the most.
