Whoa if I thought I had a total mind f*ck with Tears of Tess this takes the cake. Wow! I’m partially left feeling like my jaw is on a permanent slack from everything I have just read. The other part of me is screaming MORE MORE MORE! Wowzer Pepper Winters is fricken brilliant!
I am completely blown away. I won’t give anything away just know that at 29% you are going to be like wow I didn’t see that coming. Q and Tess have some serious heat in this one and it borders a fine line at some points of abuse. But this one is different from Tears of Tess. This is the survivor book.
I may be most surprised at Winters’ writing ability to catapult the reader into the darkest thoughts and the darkest places and still have you on the edge of your seat yearning to know what happens next. Amazing!

Holy hell! That was a complete mind f*ck and yet, beautifully told in its brokenness, its moments of shattering apart in order to come back together. Quintessentially Q picks up right where Tears of Tess leaves off. I had no idea what to expect after the first book and QQ exceeded any expectations I might have possibly had!
Yes, it’s dark, and there are several oh sh*t moments. My heart was in my throat and I often felt like it was going to jump out of my chest or was going to be ripped out. Still, it is captivating and you have the sense that you are right there in the story, living it with Q and Tess. Q – holy f*ck. I found myself consumed with him. His pain, his love, his torment, his need. His animal side, and the side that is caring. Tess has great mental strength and an intense love for Q. I felt I was right there experiencing everything with her.
Pepper Winters captivates me and it’s as though I’m watching a train wreck about to happen. I KNOW there’s going to be pain. I KNOW it’s not going to completely end well. But there’s that glimmer of hope that somehow, some way, there are survivors.
In the end, perfection. There were tears, my heart was throbbing and breaking, and there were laughs and heartstopping moments of love. As strange as it sounds, it was as if Q and Tess had to have these things happen in order to see their other sides. When the moment of change happens, you can hear it and feel it. It just takes your breath away. Throughout, I felt that if they were going to find each other, to come back to one another, they had to find their dark side and their softer sides. It was a matter of whether or not they could do so.
I’ll leave you with this. I really don’t feel I can even do this book justice. It’s taken me a couple of days to even form these words. I don’t normally go for a darker read but I can say though that Pepper Winters knows exactly how to write a story that drowns you in the dark and keeps you there and you love her for it. She’s definitely on my must read list!
